I'm considering an LS swap, but right now I gotta rebuild the trans.
idk who would hate on a 65 Stang. I get people literally begging to buy my Impala when I take it out.

I drive a beater.
It's I believe an 05 Focus.
Actually a very solid car.
I've had it 1.5 years now, I've spent $400 in repairs- $250 or so for two new back tires, and $150 to fix the flex pipe I ruined in the winter.
I'll get another 1-2 years out of it and then find me another quality beater on CL.

I live on an island....I drive a beater. 2002 Ford Escape V6 4x4....$2500/paid for
Bought it with 3 bad coils and a slipping trans......that just needed fluid. Coils took about 2 hours.
It currently needs
-Both front wheel hubs
-Front brakes done
-Rear brakes done....E brake is non-functional
-a quart of oil about every 2 weeks
-a quart of trans fluid about every 2 weeks
-The exhaust is held together with 2 cut up Monster Energy cans and hose clamps
-A/C leaks out all freon is about a week
-Rear Glass is held on by bolts...literal bolts and nuts
and on my way back from lunch today Im pretty sure my driver side front caliper locked up.......I didnt have any plans this weekend so looks like I'm doing a brake job......if the parts store on island has the parts I need.
Im only planning on being down here for another 10 months.....If I can limp this thing along that would be great. Will literally leave it on the side of a mountain when I leave.

2012 F150 and a 2014 Explorer.
No payments. They are both under 90k miles, well maintained with gentle use since new, so no plan for replacement for a few years yet.

better safety features
Apple/android audio
Nicer sound
Better fuel economy
More horsepower
smoother ride
nicer smell

Having a state of the art car is great, but still doesn't compare to a car that you love for looks/pedigree/sentimental value.

I ran a 2002 7.3 to 280k and it was still running and driving great. The body was totally falling off tho.

I had a couple $1000-$1500 vehicles that I put over 100k miles on each. You dont handcuff yourself to a payment, and your insurance is way cheaper.
You need to be able to tackle maintenance and repair yourself for the little stuff, as soon as you take it anywhere for repair you are toast.

I drive a Suzuki Equator. It's the same as the one below but it has a topper on the back.
I only have like $ 400 left to pay on it. I pay twice as much on my payment than I am required every month.

How many safety features are just trying to make cars idiot proof?
It's like the Volvo commercial.
Dude's driving, takes his eye off the road (while apparently mashing the gas), gets blindsided by a semi truck.
That could have happened but the new Volvo's have collision detection.
Well that's good to know in case I ever feel the urge to drive blindfolded.
I've had 0 accidents, been driving for half my life, regularly over the limit.
This may be groundbreaking to some but the best way to avoid accidents while driving your two ton death machine is (drum roll please)
To actually pay attention to the road.
That's my best safety feature, I'm not an idiot and I respect potentially dangerous situations.

Yeah man. I love it. I can see how when people have unlimited funds they can go crazy with these. I have a buddy that has over 40 vehicles from the 50's-70's. Most of them you can drive down the road. It's like going to a car show when I go to his place. LOL.
