Your support system is toxic to you right now. Trying to force you into low skilled labor and making dismissive assumptions that go against the statistics. Stop asking their advice and ask yourself what you want to do.

Warehouse/Factory jobs are good for now because you can most likely work OT and get some money stored away. Plus that environment will be so chitty It will motivate you to find something else soon.

The solar guy was referring to door to door solar sales. Knock knock, hi would you like solar panels on your house? heres your bill now, heres your bill with solar, you interested? If yes, you get a commission. Easy money, but takes a niche personality type.

As everyone has said, look into HVAC, plumbing and other trades. More importantly though, look into SKILLED TRADES...not shelf stock at home depot, not general construction labor, SKILLED TRADES. If you show up for a job on day one and dont think holy crap theres so much more to this than i thought, its not a skilled trade.

Hey misc quick update. Over the course of four days, I turned in 30 applications, got 3 phone interviews, and now have been hired at a BBQ restaurant. I'm also about to be interviewed by UPS tomorrow. Here's hoping for the best boyos. BTW is it just me, or do people not get dressed up for interviews anymore? I understand that maybe being a kitchen staff at a family friendly restaurant might not be seen as a "professional" position, but at least put on a shirt and tie for the interview? I was dressed in an ordinary business suit and I produced a resume for the interview. The two other candidates were dressed in hoodie and jeans; granted one of them spoke well and got hired anyhow, so that's cool, but do our parents just not teach us to respect the business affair and dress accordingly? Oh well, thanks for reading.

Unfortunately, submitting your resume online, a cold submission, is really difficult because your resume basically gets lost in the shuffle and most likely does not stand out among the large number of applicants. Still need to do it, but this is why networking helps, because you can get your face out there and speak with someone directly. You don't necessarily need interviews either. Try setting up coffee/lunch meetings and pick people's brains, see if they have any opportunities for you or if they know someone who can help. Try not to leave these meetings without a name or a new lead.
Shoot I know a guy who did this. He was a 'Business Development Manager" for AT&T. He got a phone call and a lunch interview with the president of the company I work for. He said he was promised a company van and six months raise. The hiree was doing field work "to learn more about our product". 7.5months later he got stuck installing cameras. He was a great worker but he got hired $60k/year to do the work I that people typically get paid $11.5/hr-$15/he to do. He didn't like the lack of communication from upper management and he felt that he was stuck so he found another manager job somewhere else. He was really into job networking. He offered me a quick cabling splice/repair side job.

Bruh Bruhs, I'm gonna find a second job now. I'm being very patient with the president in regards to my six months evaluation that was supposed to done a month ago. I was promised but I've been borrowing parents money for the past month and it dawned on me that that's not very manly. I'm gonna start by finding a worker's union for my line of work and by finding work at a temp agency if they have weekend gigs. If not, I'll start delivering pizza even though that's probably gonna kill my truck with it's 178k miles on it.

I'm not mad, if I was making 200k/yr running a small business and maxed profits by paying workers less then yeah I wouldn't be in a rush to give someone a raise either.

Another update in the second job hunt. The electrical union Imma hold off on that because it looks like I'd have to undergo their voice/data and commerical electric/fire alarm program and the pay rates aren't any better than what I'd be getting paid after my raise. I figure after being at an alarm company for about two years I could probably just sleaze my way in without having apprentice like that and having my wages locked at fixed rate. My company's pretty cool about sending people to product schools and bigger certifications anyhow.

As far as a second job, there's a temp company; I have to meet them in person later this week. I was think an oil change place or a pizza place. Maybe I'll puruse Craigslist.
