The Great Divorce By C.S. Lewis.

Fictional story of a bus journey from hell to heaven. I've never seen the subtle and insidious nature of what sin is - and redemption, expressed so eloquently!

I've heard C.S. Lewis' writings on Christianity recommended by Protestants, Anglicans and Catholics, but this was the first work of his that I've read... Now I understand what the hype is about!

I really started reading in depth and as hobby when I went through my goth and Jim Morrison phases.

I mostly read comic books but liked actual books when Id sit in front of my big aquarium in the evening. Sipping a drink with one hand. Book in other hand. Eyes on pages and glancing at fish in between turning.

Life didn’t get better than that.

I bet some itt read on the crapper which is something I never understood.

I'm surprised so many people put 1984 on their list. I read it twice and thought it was horrible.

Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451 were both so much better IMO.

Sleeper pick for fantasy fans: you have got to read the Vlad Taltos books by Brust. Completely different than anything else out there.
Any recommendations on fictional books in these eras? Ive read "Gates of Fire", the "Troy" trilogy, the "Emperor" series by Conn Iggulden, etc.
Definitely would love to read more in Greek and Egyptian mythology though, or really any historical fiction books.
