The ONLY reasons I am following any Corona Virus related news is for work: (1) because my clients keep asking about it, and (2) I'd really like it if they let me work from home.

I don't see anyone panicking, just normal people going about their day. Had to go to Wal-Mart yesterday and it was a typical crowd. :shrug:

It seems this varies a lot by location. Where I live, you'd never know anything is going on. Stores aren't crowded more than normal, shelves are stocked like normal.

The big packs of toilet paper last my woman and I legit months, can’t imagine wtf people think they’re doing stocking up. Or people just use a LOT more TP than we do

Yeah I do not get this Toilet Paper thing..... if you're quarantined there are countless other supplies needed as well. TP ain't gonna save you.

Neither do I. Some co-workers did a massive haul at Costco yesterday but I haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet.

@OP - how about not panicking, but 'thoughtful preparation' instead? I'm thinking about some kind of pantry-friendly meal prep regime going forward...

Only reason i'm stacking up on toilet paper and hand sanitizer, is so i can sell it for 10x the price online when the masses truly start to freak out.
These ''rough'' times can always be turned into an economic profit if you're 1 step ahead of the game.

Wife took the day off to stock up on provisions. Said toilet paper and cleaning supplies are non-existent and had to try multiple stores just to get a decent supply of either one. We're also thinking we should just cancel our vacation while we can still get our money back. Stay safe out here boyos.

OP, with this impending doom upon us, I think you should stock up on ARs and sub machine guns. Also prepare to steal, rape and pillage when supplies run low and to defend your territory from incoming invaders. Survival of the fittest boyo.

edit: You might have to execute anybody that coughs or sneezes within a 30 yard radius of your household to prevent contamination.

no, panicking is realizing you have no food stock because you've been too busy laughing at people being prepared before you.

Is your wife a decrepit old woman?

Does she have a terrible immune system?

If not, then you have nothing to worry about.
Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;

i mean even then, you still don't want to spread it to other family members who could potentially be more susceptible to the virus

Re: toilet paper;

I think most people are buying it just in case they get stuck at home due to some sort of quarantine. This way they don't have to shower after every poop.

I read that in some countries they're buying napkins as a replacement. Yes sandpaper, but if you're out, it's better than nothing.

Or even better, I just checked Amazon PrimeNow and they have plenty of baby wipes.

Good luck going to jail for gouging.

Prices have been fixed in NC since last week. Anyone gouging goes to jail.

And for good reason. That fu*ktard selling hand sanitizer for 80 bucks claiming it was a jacking of the price in the supply chain is a total cretin. Just saw his customers re-selling his chit on craigslist and wanted a piece.

But, how else are poors going to make a quick buck at a time like this? One wonders.

the o ny thing that's going to happen is people will realize it's not that bad, once it spreads more, then they will realize what idiots they were for stocking up on several months worth of TP for a possible quarantine that could last two weeks.
