The only cons to natty lifting is it takes more time and dedication.

Lifting natty you can still achieve your generic potential but as long as your genetics aren't trash then you can get ripped up and juicy, it just takes years.

If you’re natty 30+ with average genetics then you might never look like you “lift” and people won’t see you and think “bodybuilder”, but you will look:

- fit
- relatively strong
- lean
- MILES better than 90% of the population. Men at 27+ just give up and go office bod mode

The societal benefits come from having broad shoulders, thin waist, decent biceps, etc. which can be achieved naturally. Anything after that is depreciating returns. Yes if you compare yourself to the biggest on here or at the gym who use gear then you will be disappointed, but compared to the common man you’ll stand out

I’ve had women all the time comment on how athletic I look, feel my arms or chest, say they can tell I work out, etc and have never had problems getting chicks. My body is like bottom 10% on the misc lol. At a certain point you stop impressing women and start impressing other lifters. Also agree it’s better to look lean/in shape than like a jacked bull frog if you want poos

Its not that its “too intimidating” it just screams insecurity.
