What's your opinion of hobbyist bicyclists wearing all the equipment?

But then there are guys with the entire spandex speed suit, toe shoes, camel back, reflective vests, mirror on the helmet, etc. etc.
It's like settle down boomer, it's not that serious.

I can't hate, usually when I get into something I'm more into the equipment than the actual hobby.
Bodybuilding is a lifetime journey, anytime spent not bulking or cutting is a waste of time.

No different than the guy that works all the time, and buys a 20k shotgun to shoot trap 10x a year. Maybe he really only has time to shoot 10x a year and wants to enjoy it?
I see a lot of old guys come into the shop i work at and purposely buy more bike than they need so that the cost motivates them to use it.
that beer belly guy may just be starting out again

Hiw are helmets cringe unless you are off-road. If you fall or get hit while riding on the street you are going to get fkd if you hit your head. “Spandex suit” is for riding and riding fast. The objective of riding is to ride fast, what sense does it make to ride wearing clothes that will catch wind and drag/slow you down. Sports players where Under Armour, cars are designed to take advantage of wind, sprinters don’t wear bulky jackets when running. Toe shoes are to produce more power when riding, its a simple concept. When you ride with regular pedals you push down to produce power, then you pull ur foot up to pedal again. When you pull your foot up you produce no energy. When you are clipped into the pedal you produce power pushing down and produce power pulling up. You wear vests in the evening or in bad weather so cars can see you. No one wears mirrors on the helmet so stop trolling.

Cycling is just an excuse for closeted married dudes to hang out with other guys and crossdress. As long as they don't hog the road, live and let live. Zero respect for cyclists but as with anything else I leave them alone as long as they don't try to convert me to their closeted ways.
