I don't go to the gym anymore so above stats are useless.

Only do weighted calastentics in the comfort of my own home!

Um, if you want to gain any sort of muscle and not just be a skinnyfat bag of milk, they absolutely matter.

Get your protein in and focus on calories to keep it simple, but really I don't care much about calories, I just don't eat empty calorie foods and try to keep my sugars under 40gm and don't eat too much fat. Works for me.

Muscle is all about hard work and genetics. It doesn't matter at all what you eat.

Lastly, overcomplicating it provides a rock solid layer of cope and excuses for people who will ultimately not put the effort in regardless of their initial approach.

There really isn't any point in trying to inform/debate people you hear openly discussing dumb ideas about fitness/nutrition unless they are your close relative or something. 99% of the time, they are going to think what they want no matter what. Thus, they will seek out confirmation for what they want to believe, and will be dismissive when they hear things that go against it. Quite often, they will get pissy with you over it no matter how polite ane nice you try to be about it. So, it's rarely worth bothering with much. Focus on yourself and let them do/think what they want. If they want your advice and are open minded at all, they will ask you for it and act accordingly.
can confirm

feels bad when some of my "new to the gym" friends believe and do some questionable chit, and i don't want to be "that guy" telling them they shouldn't be doing something they enjoy

Yeah macros "matter", but examples like the one you made are ridiculous. How many people in a modern westernized country would manage to eat 500g of carbs and 20g of daily on a regular basis even if they are paying zero attention to their nutrition? Very few. When it comes down to it, keeping it simple and approaching nutrition/fitness with a basic set of knowledge and effort will be just fine. Obsessing over the exact specifics and numbers isn't worth the hassle and stress for 99% of people. There is no point in even discussing the matter if you can't refrain from bringing up extreme outlier examples. Gotta look at it from a sense of practicality.

As long as your calorie goals are met for whatever goal, these things are insignificant. Again, for healthy, active and athletic AND non-juicyindividuals.
