Here's the cheapest place in SD I could find. This home costs $429,900;and is only 629 sq ft.

But even then you could still buy a bigger and better house than in CA between $120K - $170K in OK.

I mean yes I will admit there are lots of minimum wage jobs, but those are not livable wages even if they were at $15.

I think people need to look at jobs out of the state. After doing research into it, I have come to realize that CA has worse job opportunities for accounting, and the pay in other states is about the same or higher and less competition (much less demanding job requirements)

These types of job ads are not rare in CA and are starting to become less and less uncommon.

10 years exp

In 20-30 years, it's expected the population of CA will double. If something isn't done soon, liberals might push for gun rights in order to destroy the government here.

Edit: btw the job ad I posted isn't paying "good wages" especially if it's 10 years of exp they're asking for. 10 years will land you a senior or higher role (rare since not many positions open up) (80K absolute minimum below market rate)

Out where? Rent control is already here in CA. It's what causes rent to increase by 5% per year.

Okay likes it’s already been stated itt it’s a few things :


1. Stupid liberal policies for regulations and zoning

2. Desirability , San Diego in particular will always be the one of the most , if not the most desirable city in the nation when you don’t factor in COL , for good reason. Anyone who says otherwise and says SoCal sucks is obviously in the minority.

3. Space : San Diego has no more space unless we want to build sprawling suburbs which we’ve already done but instead of 15 miles East they’ll be 50 miles East. If San Diego proper wants to build more , our only option is to urbanize more and build up like other big cities.

4. Chinese/foreign investors : they make up to 25-30% of real estate ownership on the west coast. Trump needs to tax the **** out of them so they’ll go else where for investment property. A house or nice condo will sit empty for years if they don’t get their 3500$ a month.

5. The people who already own a home/property , vote against urbanization to keep inflation high. Note : I’m not saying build section 8 high rises in every neighborhood , I’m saying build more period so actual working career people don’t Have to live with roommates the rest of their lives.

So imo the solutions are :

Regulate/tax foreign investment

Deregulate all the stupid rules and build/ urbanize where we can to have more inventory ( not section 8, **** those leeches)

Desirability : can’t stop this one , more people move to San Diego than leave , anyone who says anything else is lying srs

Stop ****ing moving here ( wait that’s me.....)
