No sympathy reps please, this is a sad day.
Very sorry to hear that, brah. Stay strong and be there for your wife.

Never told anyone this, but wife had a miscarriage a year ago. Was trying for our third. Was right at the end of the 1st trimester. We were about a week away from telling our families the good news. Took the wife in for a routine check up. Went to change my youngest son’s diaper, and when I came back, wife was sitting there alone crying. I can still remember that vulnerable and devastated look on her face. Still get teary thinking about it. She told me Dr found no heartbeat. I didn’t want to believe and thought machine must have malfunctioned.

The only person that knew was her mom who we told the week before. Had to give her the bad news. No one else in our families know. The topic never came up and I didn’t know how to bring it up. Was hard telling our 6yr old. He was excited to have another little brother/sister. I think it was tough for him too. He acted up in school for a bit after that.

We decided not to try again. Every now and then, can’t help but wonder what could have been and what kind of person that child would have grown up to be. But we’re very thankful for our 2 boys and we focus on them as much as possible. Proud of the wife for her strength. We grieved privately. Sorry for the long post, but wanted to share for the first time.

Fuark, hope the doc is wrong
Looks like it will be a very dark festive season ahead for you. The only thing that the aleeboy knows deep down is you are a very solid man who has a strong relationship with his missus. I have no doubt you will bounce back stronger and you will have another chance when the timing is right.

Cheers

Damn. Sorry brah.

We were gonna tell people at Christmas.

She was visiting her dad yesterday, and they both decided to go get flu shots together. Her dad was filling out the questionnaire and it asked if she was pregnant. She said yes and her dad was so happy. Woulda been his first grandkid.

Fifteen mins later the doctor called and told her the bad news.

Merry fkin Christmas

Interesting that you weren't affected by it that much. I thought this was the kind of thing that would sneak up on you unexpectedly. Goes to show how different we all are. Thankfully your son came through healthily. Another miscer in this thread said he was glad to have the kids he did after the miscarriage, so in a sense it all worked out.
