I've worked several jobs that were the same thing but because of factors in that one spot made a night and day difference. I'm an automotive tech (mechanic) and I've worked some shops that were almost unbelievable as far as how bad they were, and others where I didn't take vacation because I loved it there so much. I've had places I worked go from one side to the other. When you are a green mechanic, usually a oil/tire changer, you get treated like garbage and expected to work really hard.

I've worked almost 20 different jobs in my life, all of them either before I went back to school or during school to pay my way through my higher education. A constant was that, even if the job itself wasn't that bad, the people would ruin the entire experience, time and time again. I used to work public works, driving around with a partner, setting up events in town, driving trailers, etc. It really wasn't a bad job. However, the white collars in the offices who thought they were better than everyone definitely ruined it. It was basically the best job you can imagine for someone who only had a high school diploma. Chill, high pay, amazing benefits. It was also really tough landing permanency. You basically had to wait and then be temporary for years until you can take someone's spot. I saw guys who had gone through the ringer and finally got permanent positions outright quit because they couldn't take the toxic atmosphere anymore.
I had to call out my foreman all the time. She was this nasty little old woman who was suspicious of everyone. Fuk people, dead srs.

Me @ 19 almost 20.
Kicked off scholarship (D1) and out of college for drinking and failing every class..
Too embarrassed to go home, so I worked in a construction office 9-3 m-f. On an assembly line in a plastics factory 4-10 3x a week. And delivered the newspaper every single morning 3-6.
The worst one by far was the plastics factory. Absolutely mindless. Part would come down every 47 seconds. My only job was to take part and put in cardboard box. This was pre smart phones so the 40 seconds between each part was excruciating.
The newspaper job was dope minus the 365 aspect of it. Never having a day off mentally destroys you. Enjoyed making money while the world slept tho.

Built Catamarans- dealing with fiberglass even with 3M suits I'd still come home itching like a motherfuker every day for hours. Had to take cold showers to get the fibers off me. Company was shady as well
Cabinet company after that. It was a conveyer system so it was always rush rush rush. Moved up real quick to lead then head of QA but I got in trouble from HR for smashing one of the chicks there and it turned out to be a board members daughter which he didn't care for.
Dominos- chit customers and way too much drama for a pizza place. My friend was the manger so sometimes it was fun.
Club security- worked in Seattle at Pioneer square which is basically about 4-5 major nightclubs and some smaller ones wedged in between. So between dealing with drunks, sloots trying to flirt for free cover, college douchebags and other creatures of the night made it stressful.
In addition you were outside the entire time, rain you got a slicker, freezing cold you couldn't wear a hoodie but you could have a hat.
There was a smaller club that had "Europa Night" every few weeks which we fondly called it "Russian Night" and it would bring out all the chain-smoking ruskis in track suits with chips on their shoulders. Out of all the nights those were the worst because all the stereotypes are true, Vodka was the drink of the night and they all acted like they were mob tied if you wouldn't let them in for free.
Lots of stories from that job

Definitely being a dishwasher. I couldn’t stand it when people would put ketchup on their eggs. Yolk and ketchup dried up on the plate was absolutely disgusting.
Dishwashers also had the task of cleaning toilets. People really wait to abuse a bathroom for when they’re at a diner.

4 hours a day of going to door to door knocking on people's homes. letting them know that we were inspecting their roofs.
Went on rooftops and took videos using a GoPro
Went back down the ladder and showed them a video showing what was wrong with the roof
Then we made an appontment
Went to the appointment and talked life with the person and had them sign paperwork
After the first couple of months it's just word of mouth and your schedule becomes packed full of appointments
8% commission on. a roof.
Average roof was around $35,000
Literally making at least over $10,000/month

I worked as a masons helper from age 18-21. There was no work in the winter aside from a tile job here and there, and one winter I was desperate for work so I looked on Craigslist (yeh I know) and found an ad for an audio installation company looking for a helper to train. The job description was that you do audio/speaker installs at bars, clubs, etc and it was $450 cash per week. I called and they hired me over the phone within a minute (another red flag)
I get there for my first day, we load up the van with equipment and get going. We’re driving along and all of the sudden the guy driving me pulls into a shopping center parking lot and starts flagging people down, asking if they want to buy speakers. Yes, I got conned into doing the fkn white van speaker scam for a day. I was so pissed and just sat there in the passenger seat for the day and barely said a word, then at end of day I left and never went back. Didn’t even care about getting paid for the day, I just wanted out and to never to back there. Lesson learned.
Edit: to add insult to injury, like less than a year before this I had speaker scam *******s flag me down at a 7-11 trying to sell me chit. I just bertstared them and drove off. Fast forward a few months and I was one of them for a day

I've had some really bad jobs in the past Subway was really chitty, but at least you got free food at the end of your shift.
The chittiest job I had was for one of those companies that come and pick up clothes you leave out on your driveway to donate kind of like a salvation army.
I was desperate for a job years ago when the economy was terrible so I applied for this job on craigslist. Didn't think it was gonna be this bad....I do the interview get the job...
I worked in a small office with 2 other people that you had to walk past a call center to get to they rarely talked.. all you could hear was the call center with the people reciting their rehearsed lines like a robot. My job was to sit there, and enter numbers from a paper either 1 or 0 indicating whether the truck driver picked up the clothes on his route into a database all for a grand total of $8/hr it was also 7am-5pm.
You couldn't listen to music or use your phone....two 5 min breaks just lmao and a 30 min lunch. They didn't even have a kitchen with a fridge or microwave where you could eat or store your food or warm it up...so I just ate sandwiches on my desk. It was miserable everyone there was all anti social, and you could tell some people had worked there for many years, and were just on auto pilot only there for a paycheck and zero passion for the job.
I lasted 1 week.
