What happens when you have stocks crashing down and you want to sell but nobody will buy them? Do you just get stuck with it while the rich people are allowed to sell?

Got into stocks about a week ago. About 10 years too late. I use Fidelity as my brokerage account. Their trading platform is pretty cool, too.
Can’t pump too much money into it now since I’m trying to buy a house and save as much as I can for the down payment.
I’d be in for the discord group.

Hey guys. My work doesn’t offer a 401k, but my boss pitched to me the idea of investing into Wealthfront. Anybody have anything to say about it? I currently have $10,800 in there and my return put it up to $11,900... so I made a bit over a thousand dollars starting from November. My “risk tolerance” that the website made me choose is a 8.5. I chose that because im young. My plan is to continue to put in a few hours meted dollars every month.
Wealthfront picks the investments for you. All you do is put your money in. My return has been good so far... anybody know of any downsides to this type of business?

What I am saying is I am not afraid to watch my portfolio tank when the market turns. I have an exit strategy (not timing) when this happens over time that will still leave me up. I dont pull in and out at every turn. But in my lifetime I have experienced at least a few major turns. The first being 1999 where I didnt do anything. In 08 I was able to react some based on my experience in 99 and also having friends in the loan industry. In 20 I was able to react based on experience and I believe we are due for a pretty big correction but I dont know when so I will ride the wave until it hits.

Will read your due-diligence on why you're high on those stocks you want us to go in on. Most of them seem to be at all time highs and i'm a little hesitant buying them and ending up a bag holder. And do you have any stocks that you like that are under $50, $20, etc.

I agree theres no need to share screenshots of actual balances since we know you're legit. I'd do some "security" measures like making your LI more private (3rd degree only) or something like that
Let's say there is a crash... what would be your thought process? Haven't experienced the ones before '20, but seems like 08 it literally took years to recover

i see people left right and centre literally doubling their money on meme/tech startups, so i want to get in on these.

Anybody else worried about a crash soon? Markets are too damn good right now considering we’re in a pandemic. Everybody and their mother is investing either on RH or in crypto. A few billionaires sell off and it’ll cause a panic for the retail investors. IDK. Not stopping me but it’s in my mind.

everybody and their mother investing is the reason its gonna keep going up. they probably won't even sell when the top comes because they'll have no idea what it means or is.

Money flowing into the markets will very likely dry up when COVID is in our rear view mirror and people have outlets for their cash again
Can't go wrong if you come up with reasonable valuations for businesses you understand and just don't pay more for something than it's actually worth

From a macro perspective, in 08 I remember watching the market dive and I went in aggressive on apple. I took one of my cars, went to the credit union, took out a loan at 1.9% against it and put the money they gave me on apple and exited the position maybe 3 years ago to be some property. I guess that was timing the market as well even though I held the position for close to 9 years.

Due diligence for Appian
APPN - 223.99
Market Cap: 15 billion
52-wk high 260.00
52-wk low 29.07
Appian is a 'low-code' software development platform; which in layman's terms means it makes developing apps for their customers (customers include Deloitte, Barclays, the FDA, the US Army, US Airforce Credit Suisse, KPMG, Major League Baseball, Sprint, and many mid-market / SMBs; https://www.appian.com/customers/) very easy and quick.
Think about it; the move for companies and service providers to have an app their customers can download and use is growing rapidly. There are so many companies in my opinion, where a decade ago if you told me they'd have an app I would've laughed (McDonald's, and my own apartment building, for example). This trend is just getting started, and is going to grow, not shrink, which creates massive opportunity and tailwinds for Appian.
-Analysts believe the low-code automation market will reach 180 billion by 2030; whereas it sits at just 20 billion today.meaning that Appian's 2019 revenue of 260million would account for less than 1% of total market opportunity
As Appian has grown their customer base, they've improved margins and profitability -- 73% margins today, up from 64% in 2019.
The CEO still owns over 40% of the company's stock, which indicates he's on the same frequency as pleb investors like me.
I will continue to add to my position in APPN when I can (ded fkn Srs)
