Nobodydoes this. You have the best intentions of paying extra on principle this month, then say you'll do it next month so you can go get yucky with the boys. Next month Wife wants a new couch, month after that kid needs a GI Joe with the Kung Fu Grip. Just bite the bullet and get the 15 year and listen to your realtor and banker try to talk you out of it because it's going to cost them THOUSANDS in commissions and interest.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Best post ITT.

only sort of kidding.....

I have 2 rental homes and my personal home, looking to pick up house #4 by the end of this year, but it's gonna be tough with prices high.

But I like Dave once every month or so to keep my head screwed on straight. I'm so tempted to buy a motorcycle, but $5000 goes a long way towards a down payment on a cash-cow rental that will be worth A LOT in year 2040

Well I have vehicle debt, wanna move out of my current house because of my living situation and get a new house so I need to pay off my debt.

I’ve never budgeted before and I actually just got off the phone with the guy yes I’m paying someone to help me figure things out but so far he’s really opened my eyes to see the uncontrolled spending I’ve been making

I don't know how the hell you afford anything, tbh. I can't imagine how much money you have to blow on pet food alone every month with a dozen cats, a dog, several chickens, etc.

I've always been confused as to how Dave Ramsey is so popular. Hes basically a life coach who preaches basic money management habits that most people learn in high school. He doesnt understand investing in equities or capital markets, and he tries to push his boomer-religious agenda on his listeners regardless of their personal money goals. He also preys on callers in terrible financial situations (massive amounts of credit card/student debt, gambling issues, mentally affected individuals etc) and uses them to generate attention for his show.

According to what dave preaches, most people in 3rd world countries are financially "successful". They dont have credit cards, no student debt, and manage to save a little of money. Its proof that Dave's concepts of financial stability are completely outdated and the only people who enjoy his show are financial simpletons or weak minded individuals with no self discipline who cant control their spending.

My investment strategy looks nothing like Dave's, but I used his debt snowball as a basic guide to pay off my debt quick. I always love how people say he's for low IQ retards, yet all my friends are in a load of student loan debt, car debt, and mortgage debt and barely saving anything. I paid off all my debt in about of year of sacrifice and then now I am good.

You can always take a little bit everyone and apply to yourself. Ego is a helluva drug.
I don’t disagree, I’ve listened to Ramsey, read MMM and some other blogs. Take some pieces leave others

I like Dave. Yes his advice is not perfect but he's a great stepping stone towards financial literacy.

Hogan sucks, as do the rest of his "personalities"

I stopped listening to his podcast when he started having them on for every show.

Sure, leverage means more profit means more risk. Depends on where you start and how you define wealth.

Ah yes, the quarterly thread of $100000 net worth miscers bagging on billionaire Dave Ramsey who went broke and built it back from nothing. His advice isn't wrong, it simply doesn't have risk involved. If you follow his steps you will 100% be successful and financially independent by retirement. Now, you can increase the risk tolerance and do something else, but don't be surprised when it hits the fan. This is like a bunch of sub 1000lb total having first year lifters hating on a top level powerlifter because he pedals chicken and rice 5x a day. Yeah it's simple and there are better ways, but guess what...it's works 100% across all demographics.

Also Christy wright with her raspy voice gets me diamond hard.

There really isn’t much risk lol

You’re cash flowing month to month. Most risk comes from banking solely on appreciation.

In fact you’re diversified a bit with other properties. Save for cash then half your net worth is literally in one house

How many bills for loans you got in your mail box right now?

It seems pretty obvious that Dave is making steps to get his family and other people to take over the show for him but it won't survive without him. Dave is a good combo of coming across as nice, caring person, while at the same time telling you that you've fuked up. I originally started listening in 2008 when he was the only show on at 6am on the Saturday drive into work, that was the golden age of financial talk radio. I just hope Dave is still around with Joe Biden gives us the next economic collapse, it could be just as good as 2008.

I was wondering what happened to Chris Hogan as he hasn't been on the show for a while. That being said, I agree with OP that as Dave releases his grip from the show and replaces it with Ramsey personalities, the quality of the show for me is falling. I also find myself changing the podcast if he isn't on.

Not a huge fan of Dr. John
I'm okay with Anthony but I don't think he can carry the show like Dave does
Christy's a MILF
would smash Dave's daughter with the power of 1000 christian virgins

Yea that’s the right take. The Ramsey way is basically as close as it gets to GUARANTEED retiring as a millionaire for middle America. A teacher can marry a firefighter, or a social worker/accountant, or a retail store manager/nurse, etc whatever can follow his plan at the start of their careers and end up either millionaires or multi millionaires with a paid off house by retirement. There are zero shortcuts his way though that’s for sure

A lot of Ramsey haters are just coping for their bad financial habits. Guarantee you the majority of people who say “lol 30 yr mortgage > 15 yr, ever head of opportunity cost of investing???” just blow that money on dumb **** and end up house poor

Right now in my state landlords can't evict tenants for non payment due to Corona. That just got extended for another 3 months. A lot of tenants just choose not to pay since they can't get evicted. When they get their stimmies you think they're paying off back rent or getting a big screen lol.

I started listening in 1996 when it was "The Money Game" with Roy Matlock. I still get a little tingle in my spine when he tells someone "listen, you can't borrow your way out of debt." Heard him say it a thousand times over these last 25 years.
