There have been quite a few surveys conducted throughout various healthcare professions here, which show that significant percentages of workers are not planning on getting the vaccine.

In some cases there are upwards of 50% of workers who say they don’t plan to be vaccinated.

I hesitate to put much stock in poll/survey numbers reported by the media, but I work in healthcare and can confirm that there are many workers who aren’t interested in the vaccine, so the survey numbers seem to jive with my experience.

A December survey conducted in FDNY showed that55% of their firefighters did not wish to be vaccinated, and I’d imagine that number to have gone up since then.

I work for the fire department and in my experience, the last few months have not instilled much confidence among our firefighters in terms of the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.

The amount of intellectual coping that goes on here is staggering. It was bad when I used to (occasionally) post and when I lurked for many years prior to that, but I think the current state is indicative of the divisive dichotomy that is created these days from every single issue. I thought this board might be an exception but was sadly mistaken.

The reason a healthy young individual may choose to take the vaccine is because (preferably after doing their research) they have determined that they prefer the risks of the vaccine to the risks of facing the virus unvaccinated. Discussing one-sided statistics on both sides of the argument is a complete waste of time. There is risk in both choices. There are sad stories associated with either route. Do your research, assess your situation and choose accordingly.

Pointing at those who have made a decision different than yours for reasons you've made no effort to understand only serves to calm your mind and convince yourself you have made the superior choice using your superior intellect. Don't be afraid to admit the complexity of the situation and engage with curiosity.....it will take you much further in life.

The statement i made was exaggerated and dramatic intentionally. No not all healthcare providers are getting the vaccine.

Anecdotally, my dad is a doctor, my aunt a pathologist, my cousin a dermatologist, my gf a nurse anesthetist. I work in finance for a healthcare company. Every one of them has been vaccinated already and I'm half way there. They all say the vast majority of their peers have been vaccinated. Like i said the common thread of the people they know who are concerned are women who intend to have children.

Ive put enough experimental recreational substances into my body that a couple shots just don't scare me.
