orthodox muslim here,

wrong and wrong

the man holds more power in divorce which makes sense because women will many times want a divorce over petty things that they will get over later. also women are more emotional and may want a divorce when its not worth destroying the family with kids etc. but she can go to a judge/scholar and seek divorce, especially if her husband is not fulfilling her rights as a wife. the judge will obviously be able to see it more rationally than her

however, women can get divorces too, and do often remarry. if a new man considers her worthless for having been married in the past, that's his problem. she can be a great woman and worth marrying, just like a divorced man can be a great man and be worth marrying

and when a woman wants to marry a man, its her guardian's job to vet that man like crazy. is he divorced? why? call up his ex wife and get details on him. talk to his mother to see how he treats her. ask everyone in the community about him. have they caught him getting drunk? what is it like doing business with him? what is like to travel with him? Find out everything you can. Love blinds people, so you have the guardian vet the dude. and no, it's against Islam to force her to marry who she doesn't want to marry, regardless of what Fox news will tell you

also find out all of his personality flaws. we all have flaws. but it's important that his specific flaws are not something that will be like oil+fire with the woman's specific flaws. for example, personally i cannot stand a woman screaming, stomping, and slamming doors. i dont have much patience sometimes. that's my flaw. my wife has flaws, but when she's mad she just goes to her room and doesnt talk. for me that's freakin awesome. our flaws are not dealbreakers for each other. they aren't something that cause escalation when combined

that being said, not all Muslims follow these rules - thats a problem with them, and there is Judgement Day for that

Where did you even get that? Islam allows divorce for any reason. Of course it's highly discouraged and you have to meet some obligations before you officially get divorced like:

- separate yourself from your spouse inside the house.
- get two people involved (one from his side and one from her side) to try to see if reconciliation can happen.
- male will have to verbally give a divorce to the female in front of two witnesses.

It's a process, complete with timelines etc.

But like dude above me said, Muslims have become infected by the spoils of the West. Feminism is rampant, adultery and impatience. Hence the numbers creeping up.

Of course they're allowed to divorce. But it was a big scandal if that happened in the past. That stigma is gone.

The key to a great relationship isn't that hard to find, no matter who or what you are, it's all about finding the right match. If you have the attraction for each other and your personalities match then you win at life. What happens down the track is a bit of a lottery but otherwise it should be a success story.

The complex part is knowing whether you found the right person. As stupid as 'you learn from your mistakes' phrase is, it couldn't be more accurate, hence the high divorce rates.
Think of it this way, you can be with your wife for 50 years but you still might not be happy, or she might not even be the right person. Many of these people wouldn't even know what a good relationship is because they never experienced it. Someone who is 25 could know more about love and a good relationship than that old man who's been with his wife for 50 years.
Many of these who were in an average relationship would know that before they moved on and met someone a lot better, they thought about staying together and trying to work things out because you just didn't know what was out there and questioned whether it's the best they'll ever have no matter how doubtful you are. After moving on and meeting the right person, you suddenly realize how stupid you were and how better your life is now when you are with someone more compatible. It actually becomes laughable that you would even hold on to something so silly, just because you didn't want to let go.

Divorce rates don't matter, people just make mistakes and learn from them, modern society allows you to withdraw unlike the likes of India where you are forced and shamed. People need to embrace it and at the same time it shouldn't be a concern to you. Focus on your life and finding the right partner. You can act tough all you like but when that right person comes in your life you'll drop everything for it. If you are happy and that person makes everything better, that's your girl. If you have doubts, don't get caught it in.
Your perfect partner makes you happy, someone you want to be around and you just grow and do life together. If your daily or weekly routine is arguing about random stuff, let it go, it's not for you.

Whereas before you had to just accept it if your husband cheats or drinks or beats you.
This, but also just the situations where women get bored and want another dink. Its not always the man did something wrong, its often the woman just wants something else or cheats herself

It's because Sikhs don't have their own country (yet). They're spread in Northern India and Pakistan. And Sikhism is a small religious group like Jainism or Zoroastrianism.

Divorce is monetized. They weaponized female hypergamy against women AND men.

It's part of the same culture war other *******s have started to deny (but are obviously just embracing the decline) in other threads.

Idk how is anyone surprised. Marriage is an old school ideology in a world that is trying its best to be modernized and distance itself from anything that is old.

People like the concept of marriage but dont want to play the role that is needed in it. Women romanticize their parents/grand parents marriage and say that is "relationship goals" but the minute they hear what the wives had to do they say "Thats abusive/Im above all of that".

I still think it is a good thing for society. Most people do not have a place as an old person in a properly arranged society. Families are the only known way young people succeed.

Exceptions of people gaming the system to get away with something does not change anything.

Turns out getting married just to **** was a bad business decision. Now that no one cares, people don’t get married nearly as often. Christians lose again.

Nah that assumed "loyalty" comes from a precarious and tough life, women there can't really leave their husbands even if he beats them (domestic violence is extremely common there) because it's pretty much impossible or at least very difficult for them to survive on their own plus supporting their children. So they literally eat the punches to survive

DV absolutely sucks. I still think it's not the end of the world. Someone's spouse enforcing some order does make sense because living with zero social contract is dangerous and impossible.

Divorce maybe makes sense if someone becomes incapacitated from substance abuse or whatever, though I still think you should stay married and just deal with your other stuff on the side. Do you think the political families still turn each other on maximally at all times? They stay together for stability in public image. I am sure both sides cheat in close to 100% of these.

I kind of think divorce should not be legal. It's like your insurance policy dropping you whenever they have to pay something and reupping right after.

The secret: Put Christ first, you will never love your wife/husband as intended unless you love Christ.

All good and well but understand you can't have a long term sustainable society if everyone can freely divorce for the most marginal thing.

We need to go back to a more conservative society, there is no other way if we want the west to survive.

Those stats for Mexico are completely wrong, that 15% is based on the year 2010. Just checked the national statistics institute and by 2019 pre-covid, the divorce rate was at31.7%.

So in 10 years it more than doubled. Right at the time where social media became the main thing as well... shocking. Main cause of divorce, wait for it:"No-cause", which means basically that the party that wants to leave the divorce, they can just file for it with no consent or argument or a major reveal of a cause in paper, basically "i wasnt feeling like it so im gone".

Those of you thinking latinas are the exception.. lol no. Maybe the native-mexicans that are 4'5" and grew up in extreme poverty watching their mom and dad bust their ass from 6 am to 6 pm every day... maybe those would value what you miscers could bring to the table.

The hot ones, middle class ones, etc, are every bit just as bad as americans. The same goes for men. Everybody glued to their phones 24/7 looking for someone to stick their dick into or let ther dick inside them
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

We need to go back to a more conservative society, there is no other way if we want the west to survive.
We can get along just fine by not getting married and protecting our seed. Men are extremely self sufficient. Women not so much.

This. If not enforced deliberately in society it'll just keep getting worse
