And the hospital systems are being overwhelmed. Ambulances are sometimes waiting hours in Houston to drop off patients. ICUs are filling up. Hospitals are running out of nurses. It's going to get worse before it gets better, and once Texas and Florida are finished with their waves, it is going to start in other parts of the country just like last year. And the easiest way to avoid all this mayhem and pulmonary carnage is for people to take the vaccines.

It might be more effective to clearly communicate to the public when it is and is not appropriate to head to the emergency room when it comes to managing the case load on hospitals.

Something very straight forward and easy to measure like:

- you have tested COVID positive
- your fever is XXX degrees
- your pulse/BP/Oxygen saturation is above/below XXX

Mail a pulse oximeter and some vitamin D to every address. Has to be less expensive than what we are doing now.

That you don't want to get vaccinated, I "understand", but I refuse to believe that you don't know why they want to vaccinate as many people as possible.
In any case, the answer is simple: as in all epidemics and pandemics, if you don't vaccinate the entire population, the disease keeps circulating, which allows it to mutate and bypass the effect of the vaccine on those already immunized, thus continuing an endless cycle of outbreaks and saturation of health systems.

Since early in the Covid hysteria I've believed that the single most effective thing many people could do to decrease their odds of serious Covid would be to get in shape. Instead they shamed people for trying to exercise (outdoors even in some cases).

The gym I went to last summer was semi-private and stayed open throughout. The fellow who owned it ran personal training sessions every morning. There was an obese lady who had been coming in, that stopped due to Covid fears. She had been making really progress, but was too scared to continue with all the hysteria. I talked to the owner a couple months after she stopped coming and he told me she'd gained back all the weight she had lost, and was in the hospital at that moment, maybe with a heart issue, can't remember for sure. I have wondered if the messaging would have focused on people reducing risk factors that were within their could control, i.e. weight, exercise, diet, etc., if that would have been enough motivation for many people to make healthy changes, or if it still would have been "too hard" for most.
