this is very well said. it feels like you're already doing your part for the healthcare system and well-being of society by staying healthy and taking care of yourself. then you have millions of obese people who choose to get vaccinated, but still cause more damage to society and healthcare than your unvaccinated ass ever could. the sad part? you are made out to be the bad guy and a detriment to society while these people get away with everything

i'd be happy to do something for the greater good if it meant that other "burden to society people" had to pull their weight too... them taking the vaccine and keeping on being a burden won't cut it

So the 46.6 vaccinated number is a lie - that's single dose for the county. 38% of the total population is fully vaccinated.

Saw it on the local news one morning. There wasn't anything to read. At the time I thought that the announcement originated with UT Southwestern Medical Center.

So you're saying that the county health department was lying? Maybe so, though I don't know what motive they could have as the constant messaging to "get vaccinated" didn't ever really let up.

Can you see why a lot of people might just decide that they can't trust any source of information?

I suppose. But I usually don't want to work that hard while I'm drinking my morning coffee in my pjs. Somehow I doubt that many of the thousands of other people watching the local news did so either.

We had been at around 6 or 7 cases per 100K for quite awhile.

Yearly flu kills about 45k Americans a year (obviously each year will be different)

Covid killed 500k last year and that was WITH people masking and distancing. Without it the number would be even higher.
