Can't believe all the games that came out that year. Talk about high quality.

But no one mentioned Unreal Tournament. It was officially released in 99 but the demo was out in 98. Absolute frag fest.

1998 has to be Xenogears what a game probably be the GOAT if Silent Hill 2 didnt exist.

Half Life and Quake.
Showed my boys those two and they laughed out loud at how pathetic they look. After Fortnite you just can't conceive of how good those games were. Brb didn't leave the spare room until I beat them both with no cheats.

Lol no, Quake and doom were MUCH more important. Half life is very overrated.

The mod that came from it, counter strike was more impactful than HL
