Have you considered finding a surrogate abroad? I think I once read is not regulated at all in Mexico so lots of couples go there to find a surrogate. I could be misremembering but google it it might help you.

I mean, the regulations are often in place for a reason, and it would be nice to have one closer, as in, in ontario.

So no, we havent...I think its something id rather spend the money on. lol. Discount Work gloves? Sure. Discount surrogacy? Not sure that sounds good, but will explore the options.

So sorry to hear OP. I hope everything works out for you. If God told me I was going to be reincarnated and I had to choose someone from the misc for a parent, you'd be one of my top choices.

If I was God-emperor of the world, stable heterosexual couples, with a medical need, would absolutely be first in line for surrogates. Having said that, my preference in our current world would be for no government influence there whatsoever. Government influence might sound good when the people in control enforce values you agree with, but not so much when you're on the outside looking in. The same government who has the power to remove gays from consideration for surrogacy could also eliminate people who aren't vaccinated, or people of a particular ethnicity. I just don't have much faith in governments at this point and would rather have them stay out of everything.

I'm completely in the dark on surrogacy. Is it a regulated industry where a service has to meet certain requirements to be accredited?

Thnx man.

It is regulated, but I am only starting in on the journey to find out what that means.

I am not exactly 100 percent sure of all the ins and outs myself., but will be well versed by the end of this.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Must be difficult for your wife and you.

Not going to comment on the gays/surrogacy thing because IMO it's irrelevant and I've shared my thoughts on that in the past. Have you guys considered the impact this can have on your child? I do not think it's healthy for a fetus to hear a woman's voice for 9 months, know her scent, and then be whisked away into the arms of two strangers, biological or not. It is just as difficult for me to imagine the desperation of a surrogate comfortable with this arrangement.

I have pretty strong opinions on this and hope I'm not coming across as a total kunt. I'd encourage you to look at adoption - the problem still exists, but it is different. Paul Sunderland and the book The Primal Wound are good resources for information on CPTSD.

Gotcha. I know it's been a hot issue in the US as to whether adoption agencies (Catholic, for example) go reject gay couples. I wondered if one of the requirements in Canada for a service that matches up surrogates with prospective parents would be that the service includes gay couples in their prospective pool. Adoption can be a good route, but I also totally understand wanting genetic offspring. I'd be pretty annoyed at having to compete with gays, too, if I were in your shoes. Just an unfair situation all the way around for you and your wife.

Not a kunt. lol. Always appreciate your responses.

Adoption did cross our minds, but for my wifes sake I think deep down she would destroy herself if she couldnt have one child that is "hers"...thats why the surrogacy thing is such a personal thing and there needs to be a connection between a surrogate and the family. Shes already having super bad problems with it internally. She is constantly apologizing despite it not being her fault at all. She feels worthless.

I have heard of surrogates who come over for the childs birthday, etc. I have yet to hear any real negatives from anyone who have done it.

We are still discussing the possibility of adoption, but the process is insane from what I understand....not saying the surrogate process isnt, but its where we are right now.

Pretty sure the soon to be parents are around the surrogate regularly. They talk to the baby, help the surrogate, etc. Your idea of surrogacy and the reality are vastly different.

This is why finding a connection with a surrogate is so important. I think surrogates are just incredibly good and altruistic people who want to help.

Totally. The adoption process can be weeks or years, it's a difficult journey. I know the maternal grief aspect can be difficult for adoptees as well. You get the double whammy of your birth parents not really dealing with their infertility and societal expectations to be grateful. It's a super difficult decision and I'm not sure there is a choice that works for everyone.

Whatever you guys decide I know you'll be great parentsWish you the best.

I've run support groups for surrogates and adoptees, I'm confident in my own experience. The same could be said for open adoption but the outcomes are the same.

Came across this...

https://academic.oup.com/humupd/arti...41?login=false
We examined a variety of main outcomes for the surrogate mothers, children and intended mothers, including obstetric outcome, relationship between surrogate mother and intended couple, surrogate's experiences after relinquishing the child, preterm birth, low birthweight, birth defects, perinatal mortality, child psychological development, parent–child relationship, and disclosure to the child.
Also found this interesting. No one wants to come to the obvious conclusion and be the victim of collectivist hate. In other words, don't even create the data that will tell you the truth. This is why science isn't about the truth. They only go looking for things they want.
However, these conclusions should be interpreted with caution. To date, there are no studies on children born after cross-border surrogacy or growing up with gay fathers.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19945960/
Conclusions: Our study has shown that non-commercial IVF surrogacy is feasible, with good results in terms of pregnancy outcome and psychological outcome for all parents, and with no legal problems relating to the adoption procedures arising. The extensive screening of medical, psychological and legal aspects was a key element in helping to ensure the safety and success of the procedure.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33839094/
Based on this review, we found no evidence of substantial adverse medical or psychological outcomes among women who are gestational carriers or among the children they give birth to. The literature suggests that gestational surrogacy is a safe and increasingly popular option for families as long as rigorous screening and medical, psychological, and social supports are equitably provided.

And for the record I don't think the delusional, fanatic progressives are going to be best by any means.

Ultimately the surrogate should go to the best parents for the future child/children (Not saying your aren't btw). But, I see your point. Man and woman only can create children. No denying that. And the dichotomy of the sexes does have an impact on the children that is important.

I wish you and your wife the best in getting the best surrogate possible as quickly as possible.
Agree with the first part completely. I know good, bad, and unusual heterosexual parent couples, and have met both good and unusual homosexual parent couples. Haven't actually seen a homosexual couple that were bad parents. I'm guessing most make very caring parents because there aren't going to be a lot of gay/lesbian couples that didn't prepare to have kids or who didn't actually want kids but still wound up with them.

On the second part, obviously there are potential social difficulties for any kid who has same sex parents, and there may be some areas where they aren't exposed to certain gender norms, but if they arise, they aren't insurmountable and there are plenty of other potential difficulties that dwarf the ones related to the sex/gender of your parents. Single parents have it much harder and yet they often do spectacularly well raising their kids.

OP, while I empathize with your desire to be further up in the queue, I think a surrogate should work with whatever couple she wants (assuming that couple also wants to work with her). These aren't publicly owned brood mares that we get to control with our votes. They're women who are undertaking a fairly risky process that they're probably very emotionally invested in. I hope you find someone you like and who works perfectly with you and your wife!

Edit:
(Kraken, good post with the research on outcomes. Can't rep you again yet.)

I'd rather stay in a homeless shelter than have 2 dads or 2 moms. Neither group has any ounce of masculinity and that bothers me.

If it makes you feel better, my Aunt was unable to get pregnant and nearly had a nervous breakdown because of it, but she and my Uncle wound up adopting my cousin and they never looked back. That's their real, blood related son for all intents and purposes and they couldn't be happier.

This is why I am, generally, uncomfortable with surrogacy. It's reproductive prostitution, sometimes literally. I'm admittedly far more annoyed at the gay males who do it, I can at least empathize with women. When gay men resort to surrogacy I just....yes, life isn't fair. I'm so sorry, deal with it without renting a woman's body and certainly leave an innocent child out of it.

Maybe I missed something but if a woman wants to be a surrogate, is that a problem?

We are way past that discussion. The answer is NO, they shouldnt adopt or have kids.

However they are already poisoning the kids and in some cases fuking them to turn them gay, clown world

I think it's silly to look at an issue like surrogacy and not consider female socialization, and how surrogacy goes against every maternal instinct. There is a reason many countries outlaw surrogacy, and IMO legitimizing and facilitating that exploitation in a really crude capitalist way isn't great for women or the children that didn't ask for this.

You can read this if you'd like. I've read and heard countless similar stories.
