Sorry to hear that, OP. That's such a garbage turn of events. I agree with you that ideally college should be a way to openly, flexibly, and adaptively discuss different viewpoints and contentious issues even if beliefs differ, in a respectful way. It's called 'higher education' for a while. Unfortunately, it's become a cesspool as you mentioned,especiallyin the USA. Considering how much american college costs, it's a travesty.

My recommendation would be to consider a more cogent and specified degree while selectively picking courses. I never took a sociology course but can image it would be plagued by this stuff.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
