The last two generations have been the most irresponsible, but yet have access to the fastest cars in history without much effort. There was a time when you had to know what you were doing to make a car fast and drive it. Now become ridiculously powerful out of the box and easy to get.

The dude in that video that was posted probably never even did an oil change

145mph Yamaha R6, wearing a tee shirt trying to keep up with other buddies on the highway. Sold my bike right after that one.

130mph in my old turbo Acura RSX about 15 years ago, in rural PA.

These days, I'm much more satisfied with acceleration onto the highway than reaching high speeds. Tbh, I'm rather lucky I didn't die in my younger years.

141 mph indicated, slight downhill on the freeway back in 2001. Acura Integra GSR with stock brakes, when I tried to brake, I thought the car was going to come apart initially from the shuddering; then the pedal basically didn’t work.. downshifted like mad and said never again.

Almost 180mph in my slightly modded M3, was still pulling. Ran out of empty road, stuff comes up really quick when you're covering a football field in ~1 second

Dunno why I snapped this 'casual' pic the other day, just gets up to that speed so effortlessly

In my case I could see for a mile in front and behind me with no cars in sight and a long perfect straight with guardrails on both sides.

Lolz the brake fluid/rotors overheated so you lost cylinder pressure & friction; that's why we use parachutes

Spoiler!
C'mon. It's a straightaway. Only the slightest incidental knowledge of motorsports [male relatives], but I know that in NASCAR you have to go in a circle and in Formula 1 you have to turn left AND right.
