Don’t go to all of them. Simple, tell her you need a bit of downtime to chill on your own and you’ll still go to most of
Them, but when you’ve been working etc you need that chill/quiet time. It isn’t even an option not to, if you’re the man of the relationship, take charge.

Hasn't been that bad for me so far.
Gfs mom is cool as hell and basically just visits once a year and she just takes us out for dinner and shopping.
going shopping with just gf is torture though. Also, felt bad tonight so I sat through a movie with her. So boring =(

This. Misc wants family values and traditions, but in real life would rather be shut ins than participate in family traditions.

It’s not about that, it’s about it being too often for their individual wants/needs. It easily can be overwhelming if too often for many people, men generally want their own lives to be the majority of the time then seeing others sometimes, women aren’t the same so don’t understand that. Things do change a bit when you have kids though as you’re enjoying the experiences for them.

there's definitely a hierarchy of events. Watch that Bill Burr clip. Weddings you probably have to go to. Which usually sucks. But all the other bull-**** should be optional. It helps if you really like someone in her family. Like, me and my BIL are close and I feel for him because my sister drags him to the holidays and weddings and I know it probably sucks but don't want him to feel uncomfortable. Now we're pretty close.

You have to tiptoe around making it seem like you don't have af about her family. That's going to be hard to do. Good luck.
