I legit almost bought these last summer but didn't want to take the chance. I got Cuts and the short sleeve t-shirts just didn't last.

Will try these. srs. Which shirt did you get? I wanted to get the field spec heavy tee but wasn't sure which regular cotton one to get (slub, pima cotton, trail traverse tee, etc)

The Pima are the really soft Ts and are lighter. Slub is still very soft though, but not quite as much as the Pima. The field shirts are all heavier. Anything with the name “field” in it will be a heavier and more dense weave and stitching. Look at the reinforced stitching they have. I assume the trail is similar, but never tried them.

Some of their field shirts are like a jacket with jean stitching, like this one, and are designed to be a much tougher. Its like a Jean jacket. I own this one and it’s my favorite “jacket” to this day.

Just a heads up, im not as hard on my nice Ts as some might be. I wear Hanes “gray neck” premium Ts for work and play, but have worn the BM Ts at least 100 times each, put them through the washer and dryer, and they are still looking good.

Appreciate the post, srs. Yea I have my wolverine shirts I've had for 6+ years that I wear for anything work/working out/yard work related. Just looking for a nicer soft T for casual wear and maybe 1 or 2 of a thicker tee like the field one.

At my age now I am really am digging the Buck Mason style more than most things. More of the nice quality but rustic look. I have a sherpa jacket very similar to that field shirt in that link, but definitely not that good of quality.

I'm probably going to buy a few t shirts tomorrow haha. I need some before spring.

So I looked at the trail shirts closer and discovered they are a performance blend. Probably best if it’s hot. The Pima tends to cling to me when it’s hot and I’m sweating, so that might be something to consider. I live in Texas though, so do what you will with that info.

Invest in really good undershirts that you can wear under the nice shirts and sweaters or whatever you buy. Ideally, depending on the material too you'll wash a good piece of clothing either never or after several wears and air dry it. Good built clothing will last forever that way.

i don't like your lumberjack hunting fishing flannel look bro. but if it works for you, great. i like a modern, fashion forward, clean NYC look. solid dark colors and sleek slim fit silhouette.

Not high quality but just have enough clothes to look good. Brand name doesn't matter that much if your colors match and you're confident.

Still gotta work your way up to brands that NPCs don't know out of pride though srs being able to afford expensive chit matters

So i never walked into an H+M but a google search found this entry, lmao.

The quality of H&M's clothes is really poor. Some clothes are very thin. After buying them and washing them several times, they not only wrinkled like a rag but also pilled!
Upper class design + upper class tailoring, used on fabrics that are not upper class.
So, don't expect to wear these clothes for a season, it only takes 15 days from new arrival to delivery, we are not so fast for professional fabrics.
Therefore, it takes about 15 days for the brand's utilization rate of a piece of clothing and its time to market. So, if you are looking for value for money, don't choose such a brand. Although the single purchase amount is not high, continuous purchases can drive you crazy.

I stick to Macys and Nordstrom, but i actually walk into the physical store and touch the fabrics because the "game" now is to put pretty pics online and mail you cheap China crap.

I bought Lucky Jeans a few years ago because they have a fit for guys with thick legs.

They fit excellently and were very comfortable but then a hole wore in the crotch so fast it was like their were made of tissue paper.

A total waste of money.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect plain solid-colored t-shirt for over a decade now (srs). So far, BYLT is the best I've found for the money, specifically the lux material, drop cut shirt:

wearing gaudy designer logo belts (like the GG belt above)

Absolutely NOT a mog in any way to wear a $500 belt, it looks stupid, shows that somebody is a try-hard and THINKS they are superior to others and wants to show it off, just a bad look period (srs)

Eurocels tend to be slim, they eat proper meals at proper times and walk to get around their dense cities with good Metro transit. In the same clothes an American would still look trash when they're hitting the drive thru on the way home for 1000 cals to tide themselves over until dinner.

It's not that, I've been all over Europe and men actually care about their appearance, rarely did I see a dude in his 30s wearing Jordans, actually I saw NO ONE over 30 wearing Jordans or basketball shoes.

This post is full of absolutes. Do you know what pilling is? Ever notice some brands shrink considerably after being washed? Stitching doesn’t make a difference?

One particular line of Wranglers are garbage and wear out very quickly. I bought two pair and within a year they had holes in them because they wore so badly. Same with my Levi jeans. Meanwhile, my selvage jeans, both high end and low end, have lasted several years, but I was specific in the type of selvage that I was looking for. Go for raw denim if you want sturdiness, but know that the compromise if softness until you wear them for a couple years.

I agree with you on how they are woven, but that was the point of many of the posts in here. Are you paying for the label, or the construction and materials? That’s what the main concern should be if you are buying clothing to last. This is not necessarily a brand concern, because each brand can have different lines that are constructed differently with different materials.

A brand I recommended was Buck Mason. They have several different lines, one being their Field line. The seams are double stitched, the material and construction high quality, all while being very comfortable.

Another example is white undershirts. Gildan makes a great cheap shirt. It’s not as soft as other brands, but it’s great for the money. Hanes premium shirts are a step above, being much softer and good construction. Gildan is great for work stuff, but if comfort is your thing, the Hanes line is better without compromise. Generally speaking though, softness will almost always compromise sturdiness, which is why the Field line isn’t as sturdy as a pair of “Firehose” pants. Have you ever worn firehose pants? Feels like your wearing plywood on your legs.

I might have phrased this wrong but I never talk about designer; even the designers themselves say that the brand is what you are paying for (altho quality is almost always better than the cheapest junk)

I am talking about stuff 1-2 steps above HnM or mid-range-ish whether it is more optimal for experience + cost/wear.
