back then it was just way fukkin different. as a young teen i remember me or my best friend walking about 4/10 a mile to my house or his to see if we were there when no one answered the phone (may have been outside and didnt hear it ring). i remember walking 1.5-2 miles with friends after getting out of class in HS before we had our L's to go play pickup BBall at the closest court there was and how this one super cute blonde girl who lived by it would come out sometimes.

90s internet was peak. no joggers and retards accessing it. had to have a 95 iq to set up a ppp/slip connection to your free college internet. now its absolute shiit full of retards.

I love knowledge and for fun, I would go to the library and just find random books and read them. In the 90s when I was working I would take a day off, hang out at the library and find all kinds of obscure books. I loved it.

Toward the end of the 90s the internet was very functional and so I didn't need to do that any longer.

In the 80s, I lived in a rural area and there was no cable so you had to play with an antenna to get a TV picture. There were about four channels and one of them was so fuzzy you could barely see it.

Now, there's so many entertainment options it's staggering.

Also, if you live in Jonesville and want to move a thousand miles to Philadelphia you can see films of it, talk to people who live there, and find many jobs in the city, or anywhere. Back in the 80s, jobs were found in newspapers. That was super hard.

The negative is that back in the 80s and 90s there were telephone books. So, if your friend Ted Stempleski moved to Idaho, you go to the library, find the Idaho telephone book, and look up his number. You can then call him and reunite with your friend.

Now, all phones are unlisted and if you friend was living next to you, you could not find him because there's no way to.

I have wondered if that was done to divide the population, but whatever the case, it's sad that some people are literally impossible to find, yet we live in an age of advanced communications.

Born in '80, perfect time IMO but obviously a little biased. At least central AC was more common by the time I became a sweaty teenage dude in the 90s. Early 90s is also when you had the last bits of creative mainstream music before becoming completely formulaic as it did beginning in the mid-late 90s. That in itself is a bonus.

Yea there wasn't as much readily available like nowadays, but ch!t meant more. Want to see a new movie? Maybe you go to the video rental store on Friday to rent some movies. Maybe the one copy of the movie you want is there. And it would be awesome. Now you can stream any movie you want in seconds. yea, it's great, but it takes some of the shine off of it.

I was born in summer 82, so didn't really experience the 80s in the way that I experienced the 90s. All I can remember of the 80s is kids cartoons, playing with friends, very basic video games, big hair, vaguely recall Margaret Thatcher but had little concept of politics.

Born in 1969 so the 80s were my HS years. I was lucky enough to grow up in western Montana with a low population and a ton of stuff to do. At my age looking back, I wish I had fished even more with my friends. A River Runs Through It was real life in the Bitterroot valley as well as the Blackfoot. Now its blown out with Cali and East Coast trash.

80s had its pros and cons.

Pros: get to walk like an Egyptian, tell people to beat it, knowing in the future you won't need roads, get to pretend to be the sausage king of Chicago when going to restaurants, get to dance if you want to.

Cons: speeding tickets because I can't drive 55, get bullied by Lambda Lambda Lambda, bullied by Biff, government takes away my pet alien

You see that question asked often and I find it hard to answer. There is much today that I like about the internet. On the down side though social media has had a negative impact in someways. I believe it tends to have created a rift in our country. It is so much easier to find out how others feel on topics, and that naturally can cause a back lash seen today.

I guess that is something i like more about the 80s and 90s, it was a happier time for many I feel, without the big issues of cancel culture, etc. People tended to place less attention to the news, and more attention to having fun.

back in the 1980s if you wanted to figure something out you asked your dad or a teacher or someone you looked up to or went to the library. That or you just figured it out yourself.

It was basically very similar to today except you never had internet. You didnt miss it as it wasnt invented yet. Same with regular computers. They didnt exist so you didnt miss them.

People were the same but the one thing that really has changed is that if you were nuts like you wanted to chop off your nuts, you were looked down on as the oddball that you are. You werent glorified for being crazy. That and people just minded their own business and if they got their feelings hurt, tough ****, deal with it. You were probably a pussy to begin with and overly sensitive.

Women were actually feminine yet it was easy to get laid. There were some sleazy types but it wasnt a dating strategy like it seems today. There was only cold approaching but that was just fine because again, no internet so both sides understood the game.

They acted demure and like women should. On the down side it was the hairy bush ear too so shaving down there was only for like porn stars and such.

The internet for all its great uses had basically become a tool for busybodies and karens to have some sort of power over the discussion. it has given the microphone to the losers who otherwise shouldnt have it. You can clearly see what this has caused. Its basically like the new platform for the drama club to express their strange views on everyone. back in the day they would have just been looked at like the weirdos they are.

Difference being that people are still immigrating to democratic countries in droves.
