I've listened to plenty of different bands from the genre. I don't understand why you would classify Pink Floyd as chit though. They're a pretty big contributor to the evolution of it. To each their own, music is subjective blah blah blah.

The bassist of GnR had great bass lines and played that cool descending acoustic chord thing in "Patience". Axl was definitely a better singer than Waters. In terms of drumming, it wasn't like either Pink Floyd or GnR had great drummers.
Slash has a few cool riffs but I don't consider him a great guitar player.

hes definitely one of the best lead guitarists out there. not as good as autists like joe satriani or steve vai but still very good.
