Youtube is different, channels actually create the content. On Reddit, they just create the subreddit but the public creates the content.

It's a terrible platform for that reason. Some people got in early, and open subs like r/Science or r/Politics, they own these subs that basically seem like default subs, but they can run them however they want.

New people join reddit and go oh yeah! Science!

Not knowing according to their structure, the mods can be extremely biased and now allow any science that goes against their preferences, and push science that might support something they want, etc.

It's one of the many flaws of Reddit.
