Gotcha. It'll feel like a lot in the beginning but once you work with the basics for 3ish months you'll be much more confident in your ability to create damn near anything. Check my old thread if you want to learn Python (my fav lang). Best of luck brah. It's easier than it looks, ya just need patience.

August stats from the 1st to 30th. 18 Subscribers. Not much to say. September is upon us, so we go again.

This Drake album can't release soon enough cuz I'm gonna need a bottle.

If you make YT vids and people watch your vids then you can make good money. Not much else to it LMFAO. Pretty sure you have to get a video to 50k views or more to get the option to monetize. Or at least that was the amount when I got it back in 2011 but never took advantage of it whoops

Went to 20 subscribers and back to 18 in 2 days. Impressions/views are tanking. My channel is replaceable. If I stopped uploading today, It'd be forgotten tomorrow. das it mane.

They're getting Call of Duty content whether they like it or not.

Games been having a bit of micro stutters since I reformatted my SSD.

Too lazy to install BF1. 2042 doesn't capture in OBS and I can't be bothered to Google why.

Might be time for a PC upgrade, srs. Need to know what 32 GB of RAM feels like (along with a new CPU since I'm on a 1700).

More tech, more storage, more coffee, tea, caffeine. Daily uploads are whew. Gaming now more than ever even when I don't feel like (which is often since I haven't played games much this year).

I want to be the Mr. Beast of lazy mediocre half-arsed gameplay.

Bought a new CPU heatsink since I've overclocked my CPU and well tbh the temps are too damn high for my taste. Prob will order more RAM tonight/tmrw. I'm still on AM4 architecture which is fine for years to come but AM5 and DDR5 looks joocy asf plus higher more consistent frames/latency etc.

I've thought about benchmark videos in the past.

YTers make on average $2-10 per thousand views. Once a channel is finally monetized, depending on amount of effort + views & other avenues used like Patreon/sponsorships, it could be worth. Imo it's perfect as another income source.

Op look into YouTube Automation. It takes a bit of work to get started, but apparently once it gets going you'll be looking at $10k/month easily.

Gotta do more OP. Twitch streams. Add your live voice to it. Do something extra that’s gonna bring in viewers. You’re doing the bare minimum and in return you’re receiving the bare minimum. Yes those other dudes you posted do the same as you but they hit the YouTube lottery of algorithm. This might not happen for you by casting such a small net. Cast a wider net. Also having a niche seems to help.

Friend of mine has been on dat YouTube grind for 5 years, Nintendo switch only content, has probably 20k subs, hasn’t uploaded in like 6 months - 1 year but still gets a few hundred pound a month from it.

Edit : if I had a proper setup I’d record myself playing games along with a face cam and stream on twitch. However, my PlayStation is set up in my living room with my tv so it’s not optimal to record like that. Big streamers all have some sort of computer/computer desk type setup and that just doesn’t work for me.

Why would I stream on Twitch if I want to be a YouTuber.

And why would I split viewership for an entirely different type of viewer.

And if I do livestream, it can be done on YouTube, which has a better viewing experience imo than Twitch ever will (along with VODs being presented in a digestible manner and not hidden behind a confusing array of tabs)

Sure, you can stream today & get a donation or two to have some dumb message pop up on screen, but how consistently could one do that, and live, throughout the years. Only gaining money if you're live. Then having to keep those people entertained live, present at their phone/computer/toaster. Both the act of livestreaming and sitting in one is a huge commitment. And most make play money at best. At least with YouTube Live you get dat dere ad revenue. (implying anyone even tunes into the twitch stream)

There's more to entertainment then listening to some twat talk. And sure, I'm a cool dude and people love my voice. Well, that comes at a cost, and I'd rather have some sort of privacy. tl;dr - been there done that

I've done the face cam commentary as well as comms without a webcam. I've done finance videos. I've spent entire days editing videos. Turning 1-2 hours of footage into 10-25 mins with each second having meaning. And sure, I prefer the finished product of good production mixing audio with visuals. But I'm tired of that chit. Now, if it yielded meexceptionalresults, I'd still be doing it. I have more views doing this than that. And I barely edited ANY of my uploads. Truth is, you need to get lucky (no matter what you create) and you won't ever be lucky living as a shadow, and if this is what puts me back on the platform, then so be it.

My "niche" is no commentary. That's the entire point. To not talk. I'd probably lose subscribers if I added my voice considering people aren't clicking on my videos to listen to me talk. Now, if you had any input on improving a non-comm channel, then that'd add some value and talking points. You wouldn't ask someone who simply walks around recording their city/town to talk, same thing applies here. There are ways to improve the viewing experience of people who create that type of content. Same thing applies here. There is a market here. There is a market. Reread that part. Now, are you going to walk away because you don't understand chit or will you get down into the dirt and unearth wtf is going on. Two types of people.

I might be doing the bare minimum, but I'm no newcomer, & at least I'm analyzing my performance, researching, trying to adapt and make it work. That's the difference between me and the majority.

Have my doubts on whatever that is but i'll take a look. I couldn't do something if there's no soul in it.

it's done for brand recognition, and allows you to capture more viewers. that's why many twitch streamers are on youtube, twitter, and instagram. you're putting all your eggs in to one basket by not putting any actual work into your channel. at this rate it will take you years before your channel starts earning anything worthwhile. by then youtube might be irrelevant or dead. you're gonna get easily outpaced by other youtubers who put in slightly more effort into their content than you, be it clickbait screenshots or titles, occasional streams, voiceovers, etc., and while they're established, people will more likely visit their channels than they would yours, because they offer more for same amount of time.

The market for this is extremely saturated. I’d imagine there are over 50,000 channels doing the exact same thing and not catching a break. You posted the top .001% of channels that caught lightning in a bottle and the algorithm favors them more and more like a snowball hurling down a mountain slope.

Best way to make $ on YouTube IMO is to find a niche and stand out from the crowd. Offer unique/entertaining/or educational value to build a follower base and engage with them consistently. A lot easier said than done though.

Will respond to everyone above tomorrow.

Upgraded CPU fan + heatsink. Doesn't go past 60c gaming/rendering videos.

Very happy with my purchase. It's a blessing after sitting around 70-85c.

ignore dusty fans

am4 is so dumb. my cpu was stuck to the stock cooler, so i used a plastic debit card to pry the edge.

Sup brah.

I started back up with video editing in Davinci Resolve. Gonna cross post short gaming in between TikTok and YouTube shorts.

Take this with a grain of salt if you like since I'm a newb.

However I will say turning off the HUD a few times during gameplay to capture cinematic moments. This will give you much clearer thumbnails, plus it'll be easier to add some custom edits or effects to make it pop. The first and third pic would look awesome as thumbnails.

Anyway, like I said, I can tell you already have a solid grasp on most of this. Keep us posted, looks promising.
