Remember when the British NHS infected thousands of people with HIV?

Imagine EVER trusting the government with anything let alone the health of its people.

Absolute retardation. The only people who are comfortable with this are people that natural selection should have wiped out a long time ago.

Take a look at your next paycheck where it has the entries for tax withheld.

Double that figure. So if you think its high now, it will be twice as large.

Now next time you are doing your taxes at the end of the year, look at that line that says amount to be refunded.

Delete that line.

Then you can magically have "free" healthcare.

The problem is that the people who support free healthcare are in welfare tax brackets so if you double it, it's still three dollars. They don't give a phuck about everyone else paying for them. Parasites.

Agreed.

Not only should we NOT have 'free' healthcare, American culture should begin to shun health insurance providers, and big pharma. So many people put blind faith in the industry in the USA, and it is OBJECTIVELY failing us.

Take care of your OWN health.... Don't be obese, stop eating chit tier food, stop using drugs..... Not only will you bankrupt these chitty companies, you will probably add 10 years to your life expectancy.

Eh, what we have now is the absolute worst as far as public health outcomes.

- the consumers of medical care are mainly not the purchasers of health insurance; employers are the customer [captured market]

- health insurance can't be purchased on a nationwide level/across state lines [captured market]

- in most localities there are only a few big insurers + healthcare chains [captured market]

- under private plans the majority of consumers are restricted in their choice of provider by their insurer [captured market]

^^^
This is not a capitalist free market system. It is a captured system of wealth extraction for a necessary service.

Then above that for publicly financed healthcare we spend more per person than many countries which DO have public healthcare for their entire population. So it's like you are paying enough money for everyone in the school to get cookies, but if your income is too high then no cookie for you.

I know I'm extra on this topic, but it is probably because I spent my working life in TX and spent many years with no health insurance while being employed- no employer coverage and no "free healthcare".

I expect that in the states that did not expand Medicaid there are still plenty of people working multiple part time jobs, not because they don't want a full time job, but because employers do not want to pay for health insurance.

The system in the US is completely corrupt and broken. I'm in no way defending it.

I'm just saying that nationalizing it is even worse and is in no way a solution.
