It is hard to know the true stats of certain crimes. I would say especially theft. I live in St. Louis, and people will smash windows to steal anything you leave in your car. I know people who messed up one time and left something in their car and next morning window smashed items gone. It's so frequent i see smashed windows almost every single day, but most of the people it happens to don't even report it because the cops wont or cant do anything about it, and so almost every instance of it goes unreported.

I can't say for sure how it was 30 years ago, but it wasn't like this 10-15 years ago. Older people than me say it wasn't as frequent as it is now.

Stats are good, but stats can be flawed due to many variables and if the stats don't match many peoples reports of what the reality is, then the stats are probably flawed.

Also, we're talking about crime in general, which seems to have escaped his intellectual capacity, can't talk sense to someone that has tunnel vision. You're right though, a lot of it still doesn't get reported for the reasons you mentioned and probably other reasons, imminent threat to person, family, business, etc. You add bail reform to all of this and you've got to be blind not to see crime is up. Looting, every day theft, name brand stores closing up shop. It's safe to say crime is up in all aspects, it's just as severe if not more, frequency is higher, scope is more broad and you have criminals from sh!t hole ghettos now leaving their home turf more commonly, especially in zero cash bail areas.

- Family lives in beautiful suburbs with lush green lawns- No. We lived in a regular neighborhood with half the people having dead grass just like you see in any area now.

- Dad works 9-5, mom is SAHM- No- Mom always had to work full time.

- Kids get all the latest toys, super soakers, he-man, TMNT, dino riders, mask, etc.- No. you got toys but they were just regular stuff like a football or frisbee or something like that. Maybe a video game. Usually not the most hard to get popular toy as they were expensive.

- Kids have enough money to get body armour/etc. and pretend/play american football on their beautiful green lawns- No. You gto allowance if you were a kid in trade for working around the house. You could maybe buy a cd or something like that with the money. If you had a job obviously you could buy what you wanted.

- Every weekend is always superbowl with a BBQ, chips, lots of soft drinks- No- they were regular weekends just like today. Maybe go to the park or beach or something like that.

- Every friday night is smackdown, family buys pizza and watches together- Yes- we did this pretty much.

- Every meal is pizza or burgers with a big gulp at maccas or hungry jacks- No, we had regular meals. Meat loaf, mac and cheese and the like.

- saturday night is go to the mall, get the latest toys, mom gets the latest fashion, then see some GOAT 90s movie like rambo or die hard or something. No, you could go to blockbuster though and rent a movie if they had any good ones left.
