But now due to Covid, world economic issues etc. there's been a drive towards smaller seats which are more lightweight. The seats are literally smaller and we're the victims of airliners penny pinching.
With the cost of living crisis and chit, people are poor fhaggots and they prioritize price above all else. So we end up with squished seats, no personal space, claustrophobia, and fhaggot babies.
Business class and above values amenities over price, so it's actually improving. The YT vids I've been watching now give you basically your own little section, fully lie flat beds and ala carte dining. It's not even prohibitively expensive anymore, it's within reach for someone on a decent income.

I don't think you can put a price on being able to lie down, eat a la carte, work on a laptop, have your own personal space, own TV, and not crammed in next to someone else or risk a fhaggot baby.
My dream is to one day be wealthy enough to afford the Etihad apartment. $20k ticket, but fuark, personal apartment in the sky with shower.

Most people in business class/first aren't particularly wealthy and the folks who see a $20k ticket as trivial usually fly privately anyway. You should just get a job that involves a lot of travel. Make sure the company isn't a pack of tight kunts though, I know several that don't stump up for business class for anyone shy of an executive. That includes international travel. Most places that are still reasonable will fly you scum class if it's under five/six hours but stump up for business if the flight's longer than that.
If you rig it right, you get plenty of work related business class travel, plus top tier status with an airline or two, and more miles than you can spend. Status gets you free upgrades and miles can be used for personal travel. It honestly doesn't take that much either. 5/6 full price business class roundtrips between Europe and the US is enough for Global Services in most cases. Once you hit GS upgrades are almost a given. Similar with Delta and American. I mainly went with United because I find Star Alliance is better for travel through Asia and Europe. Status matching is also a thing, so jumping ship is an option if you aren't going for million miler status with a particular airline.
That said, I think Virgin and Air France are in the same group as Delta and AF probably have the best first class service in Europe. La Premiere is pretty nice for a non-middle eastern airline.

I had a 9 hour flight sitting between a stank ass old lady who would not shut up and and a 350 lb dude. I was also sitting right behind a baby that cried for 6 straight hours before passing out. I asked to be moved but the flight was full.
If the flight is over 3 hours Im doing first class.

The best perk of first class is you don't have to touch anyone.

I think people should only fly with babies if they are moving (100% necessary in that scenario)
totally dumb to fly to see family or something or vacation. let them come to you (very selfish to expect you to fly to them when you have a newborn).

You do realize that 95% of people view you as a pathetic, mentally ill autist for getting upset at babies crying, right?

Looks like I will be called to both Europe and Africa this year, in quick succession. I'm seriously thinking about going in business class at least. I got an email saying we could apply for a travel grant which would cover costs for things like this, so if I can do it without even paying much of my own money, I'm cheering.

I haven't flown outside of business class for ages now - my Amex gets me into every Virgin lounge in the country at no charge and all points can be flicked into Qantas credits for free business upgrade if required
