How many posters here defend drag shows for kids? How many criticized TN or other areas for trying to prevent it? You say you wouldn’t vote for someone pushing those types of books into schools, but if I remember correctly you(and most other liberal posters here) slammed DeSantis for trying to get them out of elementary schools in FL. You can say it’s 1%, but when the assistant health secretary of of country says that making sure all kids have access to “gender-affirming care”(which means puberty blocking hormones and other “treatments”) is one of the top health priorities in our country then that is a BIG issue. When there is a push in schools all across the country to expose kids to sexual material then it isn’t just a tiny fringe minority. I agree that the drag show thing may be a tiny fringe minority, but again how many leftists here defend those? A LOT. I mean, I know the right and left have drifted further and further apart, but I never really thought(or maybe just optimistically hoped ) that the topic of hyper-sexualizing children would be a topic we couldn’t agree on due to political and cultural divides. And that statement isnt directed specifically towards you, just pointing out sad if is that the current environment is in the shape it’s in. And yes, the side that is pushing it is the left and the side that is pushing back against it is the right. That isn’t even debateable.

i said that book banning was a historical wrong, which by default makes it bad in 2022.
But, i never read the books like *ALL here must have* before making their decision about the library and I….. assumed that if a school board reviewed the books, they must have been age appropriate or banned.

I guess it would be similar if public schools had been putting satanic bibles in the library, if satanic priests had organized story time with children and demanded to be allowed around them, if organizations had insisted that the term “satanic” be replaced with “alternative god attracted person”, if there was a huge push to teach satanism to children and then laws that made it illegal for teachers or counselors to inform the parents that their kids were practicing satanism, if authorities had found a huge island in the ocean where the elite went to practice satanism and tons of witnesses saying they had been involved in and/or witnessed the activities, and if we knew tons of victims were being trafficked across the border to come into our country to practice satanism. And then when a president puts measures in place to prevent it from happening at the border, the next one comes in and immediately removes the measure to allow the practice to once again thrive.
So yeah, now that I think about it they’re pretty much exactly the same thing.
