As for the short term? Let people riot and thin the herd until the people left can live comfortably (I say this knowing I'd probably die in the riots, but I'd go down fighting at least).

Instead of worrying about all this, what you guys should be doing is buying all the S&P500 stonk you can buy and share in some of the profits. What'll happen with AI, if it reaches a singularity and literally replaces all human work, is that there'll be haves and have nots at an extreme level. You'll have people who either have capital or extreme smarts to compete with/program the AI that'll take a disproportionate share of the profits that AI would create. If you're not a genius programming this stuff, just buy stocks that'll benefit and share in a small piece of a massive pie. If people spent less time complaining and more time investing, they'd be able to future proof themselves.

I expect robots will be doing a lot of non-emergency surgeries around 2040. And sooner than later a lot of prescriptions will be determined purely by AI. BRB, log onto Amazon account, AI figures out script and it's delivered the next day. BRB, many millions of jobs obsolete.
