NVDA announces AI-powered healtcare nurses costing $9 per hour

Nvidia announces AI-powered health care 'agents' that outperform nurses — and cost $9 an hourhttps://www.foxbusiness.com/technolo...es-cost-9-hour

High-powered chipmaker Nvidia has teamed up with artificial intelligence health care company Hippocratic AI to develop generative AI "agents" that not only outperform human nurses on video calls but cost a lot less per hour.

The two companies on Thursday announced their collaboration to build "empathetic health care agents" powered by Nvidia and trained on Hippocratic's health care-focused large language model (LLM) that are better able to form a human connection with patients through "super-low latency conversational reactions."

I expect robots will be doing a lot of non-emergency surgeries around 2040. And sooner than later a lot of prescriptions will be determined purely by AI. BRB, log onto Amazon account, AI figures out script and it's delivered the next day. BRB, many millions of jobs obsolete.

Upwards of 70 million jobs are expected to be loss due to automation/AI in the next decade.

Tens of million of jobs being lost to AI, etc while importing tens of millions more foreign workers. What could possible go wrong?

Not at all how it works. When a computer or robot replaces a person, it doesn't replace just one person, it replaces many people. It doesn't take three people to maintain that machine or make it. It takes a few people to build, maintain, and operate hundreds to thousands of machines.

This is probably one area that could really benefit considering the massive shortages of workers in healthcare

So it wouldn’t be jobs lost, just service expanded and improved

Hippocratic says its Constellation model outperformed real nurses 79% to 63% in identifying a medication's impact on lab values; 88% to 45% in identifying condition-specific disallowed over-the-counter medications; 96% to 93% in correctly comparing a lab value to a reference range; and 81% to 57% in detecting toxic dosages of over-the-counter drugs.

A new case filing; human rights vs AI rights

When colleges and licensing see a dramatic drop in nursing students, they will take action.

In economics, when jobs are lost in one industry as a result of tech, new jobs are created for that tech. Not knowing AI's full potential, I fear that the jobs will require extremely high levels of education, they will be high demand, low supply, and most people won't be able to enter the industry for at least a generation.

AI will hit every industry too, at alarming speeds and efficiency.

At a certain point, if a significant amount of the population is unemployed because of "automation" who's going to be able to pay for those services that turn those "profits"?

even chatGPT is pretty good at health stuff. Give it a bunch of symptoms, the more info you can give on your background the better and it will give surprisingly very good information.

AI doesnt get tired or lazy. Most nurses are fat, lazy, only interested in their own stupid chit like what color stanley mug they should buy next. They are low IQ and going to give you a fraction of their attention trying to diagnose you. This is what you get with a modern american nurse:

Of course your nvidia GTX 3070 is smarter that a fat dumb nurse.

Honestly I think that AI is going to enhance our lives as technology creates more jobs than eliminates, while increasing productivity. Lots of great things can come of it, but then again bad things as well. Hopefully what it will do is help the nurse's do their jobs better, less errors, take some stress of them, provide more information, reduce unnecessary costs. ect. Maybe in the future we will all have our own businesses instead of a vast majority of us being employees (rent-a-slaves).

Cox cable had that years ago. You call for service and spoke with a computer. It failed then just like it will now.

Now, didnt nvidia just show us a bunch of fancy actual robots just the other day? of course they never actually put them to use, they only display them.

Keep in mind that we have been being promised robots since like the 1920's yet have yet to get any.

Pretty cool.

On the other hand, the thought of a future health care system where all information is being filtered through AI makes me a little queasy.

Imagine going to nursing school right now and seeing this article. So many jobs are going to be lost to AI it’s insane. I literally hear people in IT saying they are getting it to do their work for them and that’s just AI in its infancy.

If AI can do the work of RNs to the point RNs are no longer needed, that means pretty much everyone is fuked.

I remember Musk saying that AI is a far bigger danger to society than Nukes because it will cause mass civil unrest and riots. People will have no way to feed themselves and their families unless the gov does some sort of UBI.

Funny enough, I think the tradies will be the last ones to get replaced. Me being in management for software engineering I'll probably be one of the first to go.

So, some drug addicted career criminal gets choked out during an arrest and there was mass unrest. People are obsessed with J6. People are worried about gender roles and pronouns. However, when something that is a real threat to us all comes along, nobody cares.

Even tradies aren't safe because once the other jobs start going in mass more people will go the route of trades, which will inevitably bring down their wages, and eventually when lots of the population runs out of disposable income whose going to pay for the house project and other things tradies work on?

The government needs to start thinking about this chit seriously if they don't want chaos. It'll make the BLM riots seem like an afternoon picnic SRS
