I's a costly lesson but it could have cost you a lot more in a more expensive car so I would chalk it down as a net valuable lesson tbh. When you get your next car check ALL your fluids now and then to at least get a baseline on where they are at over time in between services e.g. if you got a car that burns oil and needs a monthly top up you know to do it or a slow leak somewhere (there are ususally signs on the ground where you park for that).

Even with a broken in new car you should at least check all your fluids before any significant long distance trip erry time bro. I'm talking brake, tranny, window washer, radiator etc. Even your diff needs checking and changing over time bro.

Sell it and be done. You will only continue to sink money into it that you will never see back and honestly with this vehicle in particular....it's only a matter of time till something else chits the bed.

Take that $2k and add the $5k that you'd plan to spend on it to get it back on the road and go buy something relatively decent.

Were you driving when the engine seized? Wouldn't that lock up the wheels? How did this all go down? Or did it seize while sitting still idling?

Worst vehicle I ever bought was a 2002 Tundra with 99,000 miles on it. I put over $5,000 into it, it trapped me. Finally the tranny cooler broke in the radiator and took out the tranny, I sold it as is. Basically in 2 years and 20,000 miles it cost me over $10K. I bought a F150. zero issues for the last 4 years.

Literally the worst vehicle I have ever owned was a Toyota.

Bottom line, buying a car is a gamble. I put 200K on a Subaru with no issues, had it 13 years. Subaru is known for head gasket issues and other things. Turns out mine was a good gamble.

Sell that car OP, when they start nickel and diming you, move on unless you can and want to do all the work ourself.

2017 is not even that old, but that's a ton of miles. Also surprised you did all this other maintenance.....but never thought to change the oil? That's like the main, maintenance item to get done brother
