It wasn't woke, it's was just boring and stupid.

The black guy was an android, not an amazing black man, so that was fine.

If some company was making androids now, you know many of them would be black.

Anyway, it was one of the worst Alien films I have ever seen.

A bunch of kids running an interstellar ship makes no sense. If there were more AI crew that would have helped it make sense.

However, it was a minimal cast of actors who probably got paid very little and ran around on empty sets.

Also, the ending was a direct ripoff of Alien Resurrection, which was astounding. They didn't even try to change it that much.

Some horrendous money grubber must own Alien because they repeatedly make cheap crap instead of good stories.

Also, why did OP lie about this?

It was okay. I've given up hope that these films will be anything spectacular. As long as they make money, that's all that matters to the studios. The films will basically be retreads. They will never give the fans what they've wanted for decades and that is an alien film that takes place in a futuristic city.

Have not seen it, so can't comment on the rest of your post, but IDK about this...I think most people would look at androids and see them as a helper, a performer of tasks..I can see the unhinged crying now if they were made to be black saying "that's waycist..they tryin to make it look like a black slave"

It's been a SLOW movie season and people probably thought it would be good or at least better than nothing.

What will happen is that it will fall off rapidly.

Whatever the case, people watching the Kardashians now for decades, but that's sh!t. So, viewing media doesn't mean it's good, lol.

The movie is boring, cliched, and actually repeats scenes from other alien films, which is extremely weak given that there's many different stories to tell.

Do you think our bizarre woke culture would produce handsome/pretty white androids or we would have black helper androids all over the place.

i like the alien movies, but the most recent ones have such brutal violence with sophisticated special effects, its gives me a weird feeling. especially because they butcher characters who are presented as being likeable people.

actually pretty interesting question. how do you make androids/robots that are supposed to interpersonal with humans and not account for race.

would people choose a black robot to do a math problem over an asian femaloid robot?

or would having a white robot doing higher jobs be considered privilege?

moreso what if the AI robots started to act like humans of different races act with/against each other?

sidenote: i assume the most popular sex dolls are white womenz (at least the several I have in rotation).

I just got back from it. It was an ok movie. Watchable but nothing great. There were some cool scenes that I thought were unique that I haven't seen done before in other Alien movies. I admit I don't have all of the Alien movies memorized though.

Not much depth to it but in fairness didn't expect there to be. It technically could have ended at 3 or 4 different points but just kept going which I thought was fun.


Edit:

I will admit thinking it was kind of dumb how the main character girl was just running around throwing levers and switches like it was nothing on all of those space ships and stations. Horror movies are rarely perfect though and this wasn't that egregious I suppose.

If you may have had the misfortune of watching any the predator movies from the last 15 years this was more then you could have asked for.

Half In The Bag said the first 30 mins is great, then it feels like a fan made movie incorporating elements from literally every previous Alien movie and as a result it lacks any artistic direction.
That said, they chit on Prometheus too and I quite liked that. It gets better if you watch it now Vs back then when the hype would never match reality srs.
Shame I have no one to go watch it with so I'll wait until I can torrent it. I'm glad Ridley Scott didn't direct, he's become senile.
