Agreed, very interesting they kept ETA movement - this surely indicates another couple years of ETA in the BB's atleast? Thought they would have introduced this model with in-house and moved the Blue and red model over next year

I wonder if the eta is more cost effective and they need people to maybe build trust in their in-house movement before switching everything over.

Or, perhaps they know that the hype of the idea of a BB with in-house movement will create a stronger desire for once it's actually released

Edit: bottom line is I figure it's something related to money

I actually talked to my AD about it and you're basically right with your first point. The BB is their biggest seller by a fair margin and they didn't want to risk sinking their best seller or tarnishing its image moving forward if their in-house doesn't work as well and on the flip side they didn't want to alienate current BB owners and have them coming back trying to exchange if their in-house ends up being much better than the ETA. That's why they created an all new model in the North Flag to house it so they can use it basically as a test bed. If it's good, it'll go down as the first in the line and if it's bad, they can just write it off as a model entirely and start over. Funny thing is I was a little weary of trying a brand new movement anyway and this pretty much sealed my decision to not get a North Flag so he accidentally lost a potential sale.

Considering our chit exchange rate now this is about as good as you'll see recently.

So my girl has been asking me if I had my eye on any new watches for holiday gift ideas. Her sister works for the swatch group and gets killer discounts so im left looking at stuff in the Hamilton and Tissot price range. I found something I liked and when I googled the model I nearly died. Apparently they sell Hamiltons at Walmart. I am not a snob but no flippin way am I going to wear a watch that can be bought at Walmart.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hamilton-M...Watch/41652529

I understand that its an online thing but attaching those brands to Walmart really waters the name down IMO. I did show my girl a very nice Speedmaster that MSRP at 11k but she said she needs a rock on her finger first. LOL

Someone recommend me a watch unde4 500 that can take a beating with an ETA mvt and fairly slim.

Just sold my Steinhart GMT Pepsi, got tired of people asking if it was a Rolex, but now my wrist is cold. What do?

The one posted here looks good to me in all honesty; only thing could be the rehaut engraving isn't double lined, the end link fit and the thickness of the hour marker surrounds. But i dunno, chitty pic

anyone see the prices that Nomos is charging for their new pieces? 5 grand? Wtf. 5k is too much from a brand who has little to no history, and depending on your definition, isn't even really "in house".

Which new pieces? I'd definitely drop that on a world timer in blue. Their new automatic pieces look to be averaging $3500. Plus, the finishing on them is amazing for the price. I'd put their finishing a step above omega.

So funny, yet ****ty story. Was going to buy a new Orange Doxa 1200t from a guy on WUS for a great price. Was on my way to work this morning and an old lady blew a stop sign and ****ing t boned me. Totaled my car, as I pulled out my phone to call 911 I saw the PayPal request from him. Sorry brah, gots to buy a new car now. There goes my watch funds as I'll probably want a decent upgrade of my car. Was driving a sedan, definitely getting a ****ing SUV. If I was hit by a truck I would have been ****ed.

hai gaiz,

interested in purchasing a dressy watch (no orient bambino). Looking at:

Or a Hamilton Khaki field. Thoughts? I love the Cocktail Time, but Seiko has QC issues and some of their watches have dents in the dial. It is also HARDLEX crystal.

If you don't like these, shoot a recommendation.
