Okay guise, I need real advice. I bought the Seamaster 70th anniversary and returned it. Just did not speak to me. So, I'm down to three ideas now:

1) Planet Ocean 215.30.44.21.03.001

2) SeaQ

3) SeaQ Pano Date

I'm the third generation in my family who has worn a Seamaster, so I partly feel the need to stay loyal there. At the same time, damn the Glashuette is nice.

I think that Planet Ocean looks amazing. Personally I'd choose that one.

I really want a new watch. Have been considering getting another Omega.

That aqua terra on a rubber strap looks great imo. But not sure if I'd want the green or the blue model.

Also whether I want to try the Rolex game again…

Do you guys think the economy going to **** might make Rolexes more obtainable in the next year or two?

I can't really speak to the accuracy, but basically he's saying between the two AD contacts he has, one says there will be more supply that's being redirected from Russia, and the other says Rolex is going to cut production to keep demand high.

Picked this one up yesterday , 2022 unworn. (NOT at retail lol).

Super happy with how the 41mm wears, bracelet and clasp a little wider to my others but balances the watch nicely IMO.

Tempted to liquidate my others in all honesty. Anyone else feel the passion fading in recent years? The AD games and nonsense really has taken the shine out of it for me

Congrats m8!

I was lucky enough to get everything I wanted as far as Rolex goes, before the craziness started, minus the Daytona which was a massive pain in the ass. There are a couple I'd buy today if given the chance, but nothing I care enough about to put in the effort for.

I kind of keep looking at random stuff I find interesting, but I feel like I'd buy it and never end up wearing it. I have a couple watches like that right now that I never wear, but don't want to sell.

You guys have any thoughts on the 43mm Bathyscaphe? I keep coming back to what a solid value it seems like. But buying a FF besides the original also seems silly…

It’s not a bad looking watch on it’s own, but it’s under the shadow of a much nicer watch imo. I’d only buy it if I owned the original already. I looked into it a while ago thinking it’s better for smaller wrists due to the smaller case diameter, but the lug length pretty much negates that. I’m still in submariner territory for a dive watch, with FF original close behind.

A lot of this makes sense. I had I can't really reconcile is the price increase for the original.

Identical movements. You gain the sapphire bezel but lose the display caseback. Identical straps. $3k difference? Sheesh.

Yeah, I picked up a few before the craziness too, as much as my finances would allow back then lmao. I seem to remember you got your daytona pretty early after release? Really good going!
Any ADs I had history with lost their Rolex status so ruined any chances of retail watches without getting on all fours lol

Yeah you know soon after you sell you’ll regret it, happens every time with me. Back to basics with this sub in honeymoon stage is saying go one watch, a disaster waiting to happen 😂

Yeah the pics the AD was showing me in 2019 when i first went in to look at an AK/Exp 1 were crazy. It was from like 2018 and every color GMT was in the case. plus most DJ41 combos. plus a sub or 2.

Saw one recently out in the wild. It definitely was very crisp looking and made me think twice. But still want a Blue/black GMT on jubilee. Prices have definitely been sliding as of late. Part of me would just want to go eff it and never look back.

I've been into watches for a long time. The financial proposition used to be something like "I make good money. I'll buy this really great watch. If I let it go later, I shouldn't take a bath on the price"

Now it feels like the core motivation for a lot of people is making a profit. The actual watch is now #2, behind the way it gains/loses value.

Definitely makes it feel a bit dirty.

Impulse-bought this Tudor for my wife last week. Hopefully now the AD might actually sell me a submariner at some point…but I might have fukt up—my wife is sending me pics of Lady Datejusts she likes now.

They also had some really nice looking Tudor Black Bays on display that were pretty tempting. If they had had a Pelagos I think I would have actually pulled the trigger on it.

I also snagged this Arabic -Arabic numeral Seiko 5 recently after seeing Watches of Espionage gushing over it. It’s a hell of a watch for <$150.

The Speedy is still my daily wear for the most part though

I could hardly tell what the fuk that guy was saying lmao

Sounds like the biggest takeaway is the 8% increase on MSRP in January. Lines up fairly closely with inflation, so I believe it.
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

She appreciates pretty watches, and she’s at least pretending like she appreciates mechanical watches. But getting that watch kills two birds with one stone if it helps get me through the AD’s fuk fuk games.
