Bro, that is how numbers are written in the Arabic language. That's why Seiko markets the watch as an "Arabic dial" and why it has days in Arabic you dumb fuk

AD is offering me $8200 for a 43mm Bathyscaphe or $11200 for the traditional 5015 FF. No tax.

Thoughts?

Love the history on the B.P but I'd say neither…..i know its super shallow to say that but when youre spending $8k - $10k+ on either watches you kinda want it to be noticed…..atleast outside of the fellow watch nerds community.

Yeah, I get the sentiment. Only thing I think *most* people know is Rolex though, and possibly Omega. And there's no way I can bring myself to pay $15k for a Sea Dweller.

I did try a GO on. It would probably get a bit more attention. They offered me a great deal ($9700). I keep waffling, but need to order something tomorrow. Have a meeting Wednesday I want to wear it to. lol

Agree with this. I live in LA which a lot of which is a chithole, but I mostly wear whatever I want unless it's a sketchy area like downtown at a sketchy time. I live in a nice area where I mostly stay around, so it's not a big deal to me.

This. My AK is basically daily worn. And then mix it up with the Speedy/Longines i have.

And if youre going to drop 11K on a watch….Just get a sub from a grey? 5015 FF pretty much looks like one anyway. Unless you want the SD chunky beast.

It would have to be a SD43. I think the sub looks a bit small on me.

Yeah never had any issues here either, although I’d think twice wearing a nice watch into London now, not worth the risk of a machete wielding gang lol

That's like saying don't drive because your car might get scratched or dented. Either it happens and you get it fixed, leave it, or it doesn't happen and you're good to go.

I think many in here would argue a modern stainless steel Rolex is more like a 3 series BMW; but if we’re talking a Paul Newman Daytona with questionable water resistance, then sure I’d join you on that lol

I could see this side. I always appreciated seeing roughed up Rolex's because i know they get worn. Had a guy in a meeting i was in who works for our uh…regulatory…agency…who had a very well used datejust with oyster and non-fluted bezel. Was definitely myron. He chatted afterwords about what we were looking at.

Side note, similar to this, was watching the Teddy B video with Kevin O'Leary where they go into the NYC place with all the watches and each get 5 to spend. 1) The Hamilton Khaki Field Auto in Bronze….GOOD LORD…im in trouble. and 2) it seems like more and more people are making comments about rolex and the hype machine/not being able to get anything. Just more and more comments thrown about like that and people just getting annoyed and looking elsewhere.

people who buy rolexes are absolutely clueless when it comes to the history of watches and just buy it for the sake of showing off…. unless its belongs to pearlmaster collection

Theres a lot of that plus the increasing amount of people now who treat it as an investment type thing.

Really all it took was to get on a waiting list earlier this year. This slow down in the Rolex market has been great if you want to get it at list.
I might inquire about a Skydweller for my dad too. Doesn’t hurt to get on the wait list and see if they call.
I also doubt I’m gonna flip this watch either, I think it’s my favorite. The GMT is just so sporty and classy, I’ve been wearing it everywhere all the time and the jubilee bracelet is very comfortable.

I don’t think I’d like it nearly as much if it was on the oyster bracelet. Now I want a freaking Pepsi
I bought my omega SMP PO new for $3100 in 2017 and I can probably sell it for close to $5k now. If it wasn’t my first nice watch I’d probably trade it up for a Pepsi gmt but I figure I’ll keep it to pass on to my future son.
