I understand that its an online thing but attaching those brands to Walmart really waters the name down IMO. I did show my girl a very nice Speedmaster that MSRP at 11k but she said she needs a rock on her finger first. LOL
lol hamilton has been sold at department stores like macys and sears since the beginning. still mirin though

I see Omegas at Costco and Sam's. They also carry Breitling, Cartier, Tag Huer, and I'm sure some other top brands (especially Costco).

My girls sister mentioned that the swatch group goes after places like Costco and Sams because the watches sold there were not legally acquired. The walmart thing turned out to be an affiliate sale but it still looks jenky having walmart have your chit on their website. I guess Hamilton isn't lost on me yet lol.

I think I want a big chunky chrono now. What is everyones thoughts on this X-wind?

Its 44mm so its plenty big, but is it too busy?

Read the recommendation request section in the OP.

What are you after? New or vintage? Battery or mechanical? Manual wind or auto? …
What's your wrist size?

Watch brahs, please give me your advices. I know basically nothing about watches, but I'm now getting in the market for my first real watch.

Budget is $300-$500. My wrists are about 6.5", wear business attire during the weeks, mechanical movement and manual wind would be preferable (not sure how feasible that is in my price range), and after perusing this thread I really like the vintage pieces posted (the Omegas in particular usually catch my eye.)

Will rep all suggestions.

Well my girls sisters discount is 50% off those brands plus there are some internal sales that can bring the price lower yet. I do have my heart set on a specific Speedmaster but its $11k and even with her 40% off Omega discount thats more than I care to spend on a watch.

ill just say this and im sure some members will disagree with me, especially jecoma cause he seems to disagree with everything i say. but ill just say this and i wont say any more

do not buy expensive filler. if you have your heart set on something get that. if its out of your budget, then stretch your budget or wait until it is within your budget. the more money and time you spend buying filler, the farther you will be from your goal

So expensive for such blehh watches IMO

edit: even with whatever discount, meh. What Speedmaster for 11k is worth getting? Probably should just go for a Speedy Pro

Here she is.

I hear what you are saying but it's not like that. I really dig the Longines and can get it for under 2k. Pretty sure I won't bother with a Hamilton.
