Has anyone tried a 365 photo challenge?

I'm thinking of starting one with a theme per day (Color mondays, animal tuesdays, etc etc). If you've tried and or finished one how did it go?

I did that back in the day. But adulting gets in a way.
52 challenge is much more attainable when you have life and a full time job.

ty men

Just ISO 50 on that one since I wanted to get a slower shutter speed. And yeah my sensor is filthy, haven't cleaned it basically since I got the camera ayy.

I'm buying a new lens next month finally, stuck between the 24-70 f/2.8L II and 70-200 f/2.8L IS II. Leaning towards the 24-70 because it'll be super useful for weddings and I already have the f/4L IS version of the 70-200 which works ok enough indoors (but I'll still replace it w/the 2.8 eventually).

Japanese relocation camp memorial during WWII

4 hour 10mph road through a canyon in Death Valley, took a good 1.5 hours of flat boring desert drive, followed about the same amount of off road mountain terrain before driving through some canyons, fun drive.

Had to hit up Zion again.

Also Zion

Also hit up the horseshoe bend again, was able to get a better shot this time, about the same time of day as this summer, but the winter sun cooperated better.

Reminded me of the Dead Marshes some. Smelled like it.

View where I proposed, her parents got hitched here. Outside Tahoe.

I shared similar photos earlier, they were with a cell phone.

I've heard but I'm gonna go with the 365 challenge. Being an adult is a trap anyways.

I will have one theme per day of the week so I'll have ~52 "Red" pitures ~52 portraits etc. I'm just deciding what themes to photograph.

1) Women
2) Selfportraits
3)Color
4) Architecture/Interior
5)B&W
6)Time
7)Food

Those are the themes I'm thinking about. You guys have any ideas/suggestions for the themes? Thanks!

I would do more

1) Wildlife/Pets
2) Macro - Plants/Bugs
3) Sun-based shots, emphasis on glare, shadows, etc being the main focal point
4) Architecture/Interior
5) Abstract - Something that makes a nice background image, repeating pattern in nature, empty sky, etc. Could be Macro as well.
6) Product - If you collect something, shots of said collection, one piece at a time. or could be food even.
7) Landscape

agreed; make it broader; then you have a chance of hitting it even when running low on time

For 52 week themes, keep the theme quite broad. There are many templates on line, but the key is to of course do something that is different each of the 52 weeks.

I am gonna try to a 1 a month kind of thing, and keep the theme quite simple. One city or location i visit. At the end of the year i'm gonna make a calendar out of it.

February is Atlanta…
Atlanta 01 by Dev Chatterjee , on Flickr

March will be something in miami.

Keep the nightclub stuff separate.

On that note…i got some good news! I just finally finished all the paperwork , and got a position shooting for an EDM Based blog in New York City! First full fledged continuously paid position!

I am at a point where I can afford the jump to a Full-Frame Body, and I have no idea what to do. Do I save cash and get the A900 which was and still is a respectable camera. Spend a little more and get the A99, OR Pentax Full Frame.

Having used a D800E for the last 4 years I can vouch for the quality of that sensor. Plenty of resolution for landscapes and studio photography and there's always APS-C crop mode for 6.5fps which makes it quite versatile in terms of shooting moving subjects.

I really like the sound of this:

Then there's the Pixel Shift Resolution mode that increases color resolution by shooting four consecutive images with the sensor moved by one pixel - effectively canceling the Bayer color filter array and lowering noise by image averaging.

From diglloyd.com:

So I’m going to go out on a limb here: to my eyes, the Pentax K1 SuperResolution pixel shift mode will easily outperform Nikon D810 and Sony A7R II and Leica S. I suspect it will outperform the 50-megapixel Canon 5DS R and most if not all medium format systems as well (assuming lenses approaching Otus-grade can be had, Sigma may solve that). Without a doubt, the Pentax K1 SuperResolution mode makes it the finest black and white camera on the market (perhaps exception monochrome digital backs costing $25K or so).

I’m speaking about total quality—not just resolution, but per-pixel integrity, subtle tonal transitions, freedom from digital artifacts, lack of a “zipper effect” on fine thin colored lines, reduced noise, outstanding potential for black and white, ability to take aggressive sharpening.

Those who know me will know I've had a bit of a photographical relationship going on with this tree for a couple of years (nothing dirty, mind you), and the Aurora Borealis was kicking off big time last night at about 1.30am, so what else could I do?
Nearly froze my preciousss, but I felt it was worth it.

well noted. Thankyou for the heads up, I was considering this as a print!

I feel like the distortion is amplified as a result of it being a 2 stitch panorama from a Tokina 11-16.
