Just curious, why don't you think the ZBlue Milgauss will hold its value? I know its been somewhat of a redheaded stepchild in Rolex's lineup ever since its been around, but it's also quite iconic. Everybody in the watch community knows the Milgauss, and the ZBlue is the most desirable variant. I'd buy one (electrical engineer) but I like the fluted/jubilee datejust so much more (big reason why I think the Milgauss is the stepchild - the datejust is a better version of a similar watch IMO). I could imagine the ZBlue exploding in value randomly one day, though, and maybe I'd regret not buying one.

The unique factor (iconic green crystal + blue bezel + orange lightning bolts seconds hand) combined with a solid Rolex-esque heritage (i.e. this watch was specially made for engineers to withstand extreme environments, identical story for the submariner or GMT but with divers/pilots instead of engineers) and overall solid reputation in the community makes me think it will do well long-term (srs)

I think it's a cool looking watch, but it's basically just an OP with a faraday cage around the movement, right? And the biggest feature isn't really that impressive anymore- Omega's new movements have something like 15x more magnetic resistance.

The novelty of the design is cool, but it just doesn't add much else.

Of course, Rolex just had a left-handed watch skyrocket in value because a bunch of right-handed people liked the novelty. So who knows.

Got my DJ back with the engraving I had done in my mother's memory. Really happy how it turned out.

Had my wife and son with when we picked it up. The sales associate has kids and seems to really enjoy ours every visit. Bought the wife some earrings to match the necklace I had gotten her on my initial visit.

Told the sales person that I'd really love a Sky-Dweller or no-date Sub if she comes across either. Feel pretty good I'll get offered something soonish.

I just wish this AD carried Patek. Would love for the purchase to be getting me closer to a bigger prize. Ah well.

I'm seriously considering a JLC Ultrathin Moon right now. Really want something from JLC. My only hesitation is that I'd be cash poor if the Rolex AD actually called on my Sub or Skydweller right after.

What do you brahs think of the 1926 for your wives?

https://www.benbridge.com/watches/tu...RoCmaUQAvD_BwE

I'm stopping by the AD tomorrow to check in. Figure getting the wife something could help me move up the list on some things.

Glass isn't broken, but that's my grandfather's 1950's datejust. I've been meaning to send it in to be serviced for awhile now. The glass needs to be cleaned up and the crown needs to be repaired. It's also got a cheap aftermarket bracelet on it that was popular in the 60s.

I've got a watch at Nesbit's right now. Supposed to be head-and-shoulders above either Omega or Rolex factory service.

In other news, visited my AD today. She said I'm at the top of her client list right now, and that she'll text me when she gets any sports models so I can take my pick. Should have something good before the end of the month.

What do you guys think of this for the wife?

She's never owned a real watch. Feels like a good first step. Bezel isn't my flavor, but the integrated bracelet sure seems comfortable.

Bit too masculine IMO, the 1926 line is gorgeous and not as “tool” oriented.
Claire de Rose line also is super nice.
