Financial independence was always what I wanted, but I’m starting to realize it’s impossible without continuing with a job of some sort to maintain benefits and allow nest egg time to compound without touching it. People underestimate what health insurance costs without a job which is insane because it does chain a LOT of people to their jobs that otherwise wouldn’t. Then too is the inflation that eats away at people who are hoarding cash. I remember as a kid a million dollars seemed like plenty to retire. Now it’s probably 2 million. When it is my time to retire it’ll probably be 4 million.

My problem too is also my developing expensive tastes too ayyy lmao

move to maple syrup Canada that part won't be problem. that free health care.

at $2-3 million (my current estimate) I would walk from current 9-5 and just do consulting work / part time coding.

spend the rest of time trading stock/selling option premium

at $2 million averaging 10% returns yearly is $200K what more do you need?

life is too short.

imagine being some geezer at 50+ mountain biking / hiking etc.

as cool it would be to have pagani or whatever else you guys mentioned above whats the point you will drive 3-4 times year and spend rest of it polishing.

get model s plaid and you have the fastest sedan in world atm.

or buy some older classic car / truck and turn it into investment.

just look how much ford gt's 2005 are trading now.

they were around $150K and nobody wanted it now trading at $500-600K

Honestly think I’d get more long-term enjoyment out of working + a Koenigsegg than retiring at this age. Life is definitely too short to spend most of your time doing something you don’t enjoy, but I legit enjoy my work and barely have time to indulge the money as it is

Not that I’d buy a Koenigsegg with $2mill savings lol, I’d just sooner buy a Koenigsegg than retire at 36. But I wouldn’t do either.

Totally IMO, but if XOM $65 calls for November open <$1 I really think y'all should hop on the gravy train boyos.

Q2 they had 4B profits.
Natty gas averaged $2.7 to my naked eye looking at a chart
Oil average $65ish maybe closer to $67

Q3 announcing 10/29.
Q3 natty gas looking close to $4.5ish
Q3 oil looking like $71ish

If they drop a $10B profit + upped guidance what stops them from moving into the mid $70s?
Bonus gains if they announce some sort of stupid ESG compliance date better than "anticipated" and they are the best black gold company for ESG tards to invest in.

Oil sitting at $83 rn too… Sheeeeeeeeeesh

XOM is not a good oil play imo, too large, too much dissent and now activist members on the board who want an oil company to not produce oil… its like how JP Morgan and other banks see Wells Fargo… their time is up

COP is about to close on $9B worth of wells/land from Shell PLUS the concho deal, the ROA for the $9B is 50% (based on my own calc for barrels per day production relative to the cost of the ALREADY productive wells in TX) and pricing crude at $70 per barell, were at $83 so when the deal closes the return on investment in the land will be closer to 60%).

COP has better management and leadership, 5 years from now top dogs will be COP and CVX in my opinion, Exxon fall from grace is upon us…

Zillow announces no more new home buys citing issues with labor and remodeling their current supply. This won’t help their stock.

Looks like a possible red day and buying opportunity.

Hopefully SoFi gets to 23 again. I'm gonna unload that bag and probably toss it at Bros.

Contemplating avg down with SoFi but with my luck, it's gonna pull back and the bag will be heavier.

Hold off averaging down until they announce warrant redemption. Should be coming in 3-4 weeks

Test of $900 is looking like very likely before earnings Wednesday

option flow is turning very heavy call side

hell could do it by tmmrw at this rate.

I would not want to hold this after earnings unless you like flipping coins

its either going to $1000 or $800 after earnings.
