Mirin the gold Daytona. Don't know that I'll ever step up to a gold model. I would have had a hard time letting go of the bluesy though.

I got a new (used) watch. I traded my 116613LB and my 116520 for a 116515LN Chocolate. Ive wanted this piece for a long time now and recently I felt the need to scratch this itch when I saw a posting near my town. But the owner wanted too much for it. Taiwan is not a large country and that means there arent alot of trades or sales available for any given model, especially 116515LNs. So when I saw that new posting I felt I HAD to scratch this itch. The time felt right.

After occassionally looking around forums for 3 weeks I came across a guy who lived a bit farther. Needless to say he agreed to take my 2 pieces for his 1 116515LN since he "graduated Rolex" and was now moving onto Lange. Combined my total value probably exceeds his by about 3-4k but when you are the 1 initiating the trade, you gotta take a loss.

Also selling watches is a pain in the pass. You get the biggest idiots asking about your watch and all of them lowball.

Anyways here it is. Ill probably keep this 1 for a while.

and another one buys a rolex .. please change title to "official misc rolex thread"

I had a harder time letting go of my stainless daytona since it was an APH dial and as also the 1st Rolex I ever bought.

Yeah, from a collector prospective the stainless Daytona was the bigger fish. I just think the bluesy is high on my all-time wish list for a daily. You grabbed a great watch though.

The bluesy was a great watch, mine was a smurf dial on blue rubber.

I posted it in this exact thread like 200 pages ago in 2020.

The stainless Daytona wasnt doing it for me anymore. Maybe I got tired of looking at it but I felt like I wanted an "upgrade" as well as something I dont see as often out in the wild.

I think in the 10 years I owned the 116520 I only ever saw it on another wrist like 4-5 times. I've never seen somebody wearing a chocolate 116515LN tho, although Im sure theres alot of them around, Ive never seen it on another wrist. So I like that about this watch, and its still a Daytona, so that scratches my Daytona itch. Mainly I see GMTs and black subs. Sometimes I see a few 2tone Daytonas though, but 2 tone Daytonas arent my thing.

Did my yearly window shopping in Vegas last weekend.

Still nothing at Rolex other than "Display" models.

Still love the IWC Big Pilot. Bronze version only comes in a green face or blue face and wasn't feeling either one really. Titanium case was kinda cool, but the SS version would suit me fine.

Was hoping to look at the Zenith Type 20 Pilot in Bronze. Nobody had one.

There is something to the Panerei models. They are very distinct in their styling. I do like them quite a bit.

Other than that, most stuff all starts to look the same.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

This. Cant stand Rolex's "cartel" yellow gold. Their rose gold though, I'd have a rose gold GMT in a hearbeat….

Saw a great deal on a BB58 Bronze 'Boutique Edition', would only be my second nice watch. Could keep it or immediately flip it for £500 - £1K profit. Tempting as I've had my eye on one for a while.

Only problem with Vegas is that the brand boutiques don't discount like ADs.

BRB, Seamaster is $7000 after tax compared to $4500 with no tax from an out of state AD

its a 200 dollar watch, cant really be compared to any mechanical watch. Its more of a expensive quartz watch.

Its a fun watch for what it is, you cant compare it to anything close to even the 500 dollar range.

Ended up buying that Grand Seiko in october but don't think i ever posted it. Now rocking a humble 3 piece collection. As for the finishing on it, I can't tell the difference from some of the patek's i've had on wrist. Where it shows its pricepoint is interacting with the movement. Coming from Rolex/Tudor, I'm used to super tactile feeling winding functions. The GS feels fragile whenever you wind it or have to move the crown in or out.

Other than that though the strap is great, the "zeratsu" polish looks amazing, and every youtuber was right about constantly wanting to stare at the clean cream dial with the blue gmt hand. That's another thing, working for international companies remotely… the 24hour gmt hand is very practical. Don't see myself ever selling it unless I really get comfortably into 5212A money (which is worth more than my entire collection)

I'd flip it. The blackbay bronze (43mm) was my first swiss watch. The patina on the bronze case is one thing, but that boutique edition has the entire bracelet in bronze. Would look like 100% purified mountain-spring ass once the bracelet starts to "patina". This video shows it well, imagine your entire bracelet being this dull grey color. no thanks geoffrey.

Yup sold it to a friend of a friend for 1k over msrp. Usually sells between 2.5 and 4k over msrp but i really just wanted to make sure i got my money back on the purchase.

I thot the blue dial and the uniform stainless steel would be more my style, but I missed the weight of the gold on the two tone. The blue dial is no doubt sexy, but the whole rose gold presence on the bezel and the bracelet always makes me smile. Plan to keep it until i'm an old geezer.

how do you like your tudor black bay chrono? tried one on at an AD last week and it felt surprisingly good and fit really well despite me having poverty 6.25" wrists
That's what I was wearing today. It was an impromptu purchase, but i love it for the reasons you mentioned.

I've been posting in this thread for years how i wanted an omega grey side of the moon, but I've tried it on wrist no less than 3 times and each time it just seems so fuking big. The Tudor chronograph on the otherhand, is perfect across the board.

- Bracelet is completely brushed, no high polish on it at all so you can wear it like a proper sports chronograph without geting pissed about the scratches.

- The polishing it does have are in the perfect spots. The crown and chrono pushers, plus the side of the case so you get just enough bling without it becoming a liability or looking like it's trying to be something it's not.
