Went to a private event at my local Hublot shop. Not really my style but I do like the history, etc of them and the fact that they take huge risks.

lmao i know that feel. i remember the good old days a few years ago when even spending over $100 on a watch was preposterous to me.

now i'm casually on chrono24 looking at $15k watches like "oh that's a pretty good deal" knowing damn well i don't plan to drop that much on a watch any time soon

I had a friend reach out and say his dad was wanting to get rid of his batman. He said he'd let me get it for 12k. A 2018 model. Texted me pictures today and it was a James Cameron deep sea. lol

Nice watch, but I don't need another sea dweller.

This year isn't bad. Cartier Santos and the Halios/Topper collab, and now this. Last year was bad. Fifty Fathoms, Sea-Dweller, DateJust, Tudor Royal (for wife), plus I think 5-6 Halios pieces. I know my insurance value is over $100k but I'm scared to think about specific numbers.

This is the part where I should probably disclaim that anything not on my wrist is split between a couple safety deposit boxes, so plz don't rob me unless you really need cat paraphernalia.

How do the three divers compare? (SD43 vs Omega SMP vs FiftyFathoms) I feel like the omega wouldn’t get as much wear anymore with your recent acquisitions

The SD43 is my daily because the bracelet is comfortable and I feel like I can beat the hell out of it. The FF is way more refined. Way more attention to finish detail than the Rolex. But the sailcloth strap honestly isn't my thing. I need to buy the bracelet. The SMP I bought way back in like 2009 and it's more of a sentimental thing. Although it's also my favorite Seamaster design. Doesn't get as much wear because I feel like I need to baby the aluminum bezel insert, and because I need to buy a half link. lol
