Entry Vacheron, AP, Patek?

I would love a Vacheron Overseas. But I also want a nice moon complication from JLC or Moser.

Bought my DJ41 and SD43 from them last year. Also got my Cartier and my wife's earrings from her. But overall not a massive spend.
Rumor is that Rolex has told AD's to focus on younger professionals who are going to be 40 year clients instead of the whale guys nearing retirement. Maybe I got lucky. Who knows.

If Catbrah frequents his AD wearing the watches he has already bought, then they probably recognize him as being a collector rather than a flipper…perhaps helps with getting him more exclusive pieces.

Well for the Daytona it's not a minor surcharge. It's a $14k watch that sells for $38k on the secondary market right now. lol
Although, i could just go to the one AD within driving distance and just start buying whatever they offered. LOL.
My problem is as far as rolex is concerned, i really only dug the AK and the BLNR. The rest is just kinda meh ok.
Also had an annoying history with this whole process.
- Chatted up AD for a couple of months on a bi weekly or so basis in upstate NY
- Get offered AK in november and chat more about what i would like
- SA who sold it to me quits in Feb and moves to western NY
- I get offered job back down in VA
- Go to AD down there, start chatting and go in several times.
- Purchase Speedy from said AD
- Go in a few times after, then one of the times i notice all the Rolex stuff is gone and chat with the SA i know for about 2 hours about that whole sitch
So basically it's all moot right now.

Who knows.

There's a lot less dick swinging than I expected involved. I know they know I'm not rich. I'm sure there are hundreds of people on their lists who make more money than me. But I just try to be genuine, easy to work with, and appreciative.

Anyone think Omega speedmaster prices will go up? I'm thinking about buying from grey market (PrestigeTime) to save $1k but that watch seems like it would be better to buy from an AD due to it's complexity.

Is your advice based on a recent discount or was this a year or two ago, because recently I went to an AD and they flat out told me they don't do discounts on luxury brands. I had just asked for 15% off or so.

Oh and the cool part is, no sales tax!
The AD i got my speedy from didnt do discounts on a speedy itself, but the SA pretty much flat out told me the price was workable and hinted around 15-20%.
I've done a lot of digging to see which version is ideal for me (sapphire vs hesalite) and I just like the bracelet more on the sapphire, and also the fact that sapphire is used. Maybe when I go in person I may change my mind as I don't want this watch to be too flashy, hope that's not the case.
The milky ring around the sapphire version hopefully isn't too noticeable as well.
Nice article here on the differences if anyone is interested:
