any tips photography wise for NYC?
Find the 35mm wide enough for most of your shots? full frame or crop? Why did you jump wider to the 10-24? There is a Photo Miscer who posts here regularly who is from NYC or used to be, im sure he has some tips.

I'll have to look into the 105mm 2.8.

I ordered the 85mm and it will be here Saturday!
You won't be disappoint! That's an awesome lens…. it was my first purchase. (started out on kit lens) and still my favorite.

I'll have the lens tomorrow afternoon and can't wait! This D750 has been sitting in the box since it arrived and it's driving me nuts not being able to use it.

My buddy has been so busy with work we just haven't had time to meet up so I could borrow one of his lens's. Which I don't feel comfortable doing that anyway. I'll at least have the 85mm tomorrow. I should be able to have a good time with it.

Here are photos of it doing its job the only time I needed it .

Giottos Aegis Professional M-C Schott Glass LCD Screen Protector — $38. This fits the D750.

The stock Nikon cover much like the strap is a POS.

$20 for a comfortable strap that doesn't scream STEAL ME.

Have you gone through the manual and familiarized yourself with all of the various settings? Hold the camera and get used to where the buttons are, customize them. Oh, and use the back button focus.

The reason I decided to go to 10-24 is because I shoot cropped (D5000) so I found that the 35 mm on the cropped sensor didn't give me enough. I love the 35mm though because of the F1.8, so great in low light and it's built really well for the price! Can't see how you can go wrong with it!

I've written down a bunch of places I want to go shoot in NYC….seems like 3.5 days is WAYYY too short but I guess that's how it is when you're stuck in the 9-5 rot as the misc calls it lol

Will post pics here sometime next week from my trip! Can't wait to try out the new lens and the guy I bought the lens from sold me his D7100 together!! It's a shame I only got it 1 day before my trip so haven't had that much time to play with it but I'm hoping to get some good shots!

Have any of you checked out the vulture equipment camera straps? I purchased one for my Italy trip in October and LOVE it!!

Yes this is random but I remember reading about straps.

I have looked at screen protectors and never found one that really screamed BUY ME!!

But from my past experiences with screen protectors on my iPhone, I have always lost them. Yes they serve their purpose of protecting the screen(s), I would rather just take my chances and if something happens to my screen, I replace it.

Colors are fine to me, but the image overall looks flat. Maybe bumping contrast will help it out.

Kinda considering buying an X-T10 and 27mm lens to take around with me on travel and adventures around where I live. I had a D600 before and sold it (bought it second hand and sold for the same price I paid). I want something that wont get in the way or annoy me like my old Nikon. Reckon this could be the winner?

Ive been doing photography on and off over the years, I just hate doing a hobby that im not the best at, its immature but there it is.

Well here goes! First lens showed up this morning.

I'm going out to shoot this afternoon. This will be my very first time using a real camera. I hope they come out well.

I'm going to leave it in auto at this point.

I shot 100 pictures today. I kept it in auto of course since this is all new to me.

I came home to upload the pictures to my computer. All I did was put the memory card in my laptop and manually opened it under settings. It looks like all the files were converted to .NEF. I opened a Flickr account but none of them will upload due to the format. What happened? What do I do to change the format? I was shooting in RAW. They won't upload to ******** either.

I can't even get imgur to open them correctly

you'll need to convert them to .jpg to upload them to any of those services.

You'll need a program such as Lightroom, load them up in lightroom and edit them and then you can export them as jpg or tiff. You can load straight to flickr from inside lightroom with a plug in.

Also looking back, my largest self-critique is lack of tack sharp focus, I'm sure it's user error? Most of the shots are the Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 but also sport a 50mm f/1.8 and 70-300 f/4.5-5.6,

Coming up with a list of lenses I'd like to upgrade to, would like one or more come trip time, but a wedding, laser engraver, xbox one are sort of competing for the wallet as well.

Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3

Would like a 35mm over the 50mm, Nikon has a 35mm f/1.8 that I would likely buy, however I am contemplating spending a bit more and replacing the 10-24mm as my current landscape lens, with the Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4.

Shot with the D7100.
Where are you planning on going when you're in Scotland?

I'm very much a beginner to photography but I might be able to help if you have any questions about locations

I do think they should sell it off to some small company to try to make something with it, or make it open source, etc.
