Stock transaction : yes… normal transfers: NO… If I send $5000 to my buddy as a wire transfer the IRS knows nothing about it. If I send $10,000 the bank reports that to the IRS. (not sure if its all transactions or just if it gets flagged) thanks to the Patriot Act. The new proposal would require banks to report damn near everything to the IRS. First we have terrorism now we have "taxing billionaires" as excuses to extract more money from small businesses and middle class people from taxes.
