Lots of money in hedge funds is “retail” too, just pooled together and managed by an organization (pension funds, labour unions, etc)

wtf. I had VXX calls that wont expire for another 10 days but apparently it split last week and now these calls are worthless and gibberish. Look at the May 21st VXX chain. Damn it wtf! The last I checked I was green on them and I should be up a bag or so by now, instead I'm down 97%.

yes. they are the ones pushing and pulling the market, so retail traders close out their positions - benefitting them

even if a trade goes against them, they have an almost infinite amount of buying power - so they'll just overpower the other side until they give in, whether its a short or a long

essentially the person with the most money wins

the irony is the people investing in hedge funds still lose due to fees. they have all this money but are too dumb to realise they'd be better off putting their millions in an index

Up a few hundred on palantir because I bought the dip today.

Could sell my whole position, while it's temping to be able to dollar cost down my other positions, that long term potential with it makes me want to hold it through this bumpy period.

I believe so as well. It's looking primed and ready lol. Couple more weeks I'm thinking of steady up trends then takes off between $12-14.

then decided, let's just mess around with $5k. put it in some "safe" positions.

Bought 75 MARA at $37, thinking since it's down from $57 that was a good buy, and since BTC/ETH were doing well
Bought 100 PLTR at $21 thinking that was the floor
Bought 150 PSFE at $13.75 thinking earnings would be good

everything tanked. MARA down to $22, PLTR down to $16, PSFE down to $11. It's fuking ridiculous, not even worth it anymore, I should've just stayed out

just holding PSFE now since it probably won't go much lower if at all, and I still think it'll bounce back. that, and I have $5 june calls for AHT which is up quite a bit

Man, just hold if you don't need the cash right now for bills/mortgage payments. Don't let the emotions get you.

not red for pltr but red for others i own

the fact that somehow pltr didn't crash completely after earnings is good news however those which spiked before (amzn, appl) etc, tanked shortly afterwards

Curious what your plays are for the two scenarios:

1) Hyperinflation?

2) We get an interest rate hike?

I have been going in on commodity and value ETFs, but am nervous that an interest rake hike will cause my commodities to tumble, so being cautious. Also, lots of puts at the moment, especially against meme stocks.

Seeing a few people in here who need to begin doing the exact opposite of what they're currently doing IMO

Lolz i could buy that. I've got TSLA and ARKG. Theyve gotten creamed.

Realistically it's frustrating because this chit always seems to happen when i want to cash out the capital and invest elsewhere. Have the opportunity to potentially go halfsies with a buddy on a commercial property and it's a fantastic opportunity.

BRB market tanks and i lose 20k in 2 weeks.

Won't be hyperinflation. Imo, its commodities, banks, and grocery stores.
