My mind is blown. My friend put in 10k USD in a altcoin 2 years ago and he is now sitting on 2 million USD in unrealized gains. How is that even possible? Guy is set for life and does not have to work a single day

That's awesome but he's not even close to set for life especially after taxes r@pe him. I guess it depends on where he lives. 1.3 ish mil after taxes (idk exact income rate) wouldn't even tickle my pickle where I'm at. Mirin hard tho!

I debated selling my qqq puts at the open since it was near support, but I’d rather risk it all and wait for $300. They expire next Wednesday

Only chance of that happening is through hefty CSP's, or a complete meltdown of the stock.

If you can't make 1.3m make you more than enough money to live a comfortable life, you might be a legit potato.

More difficult than it seems on the surface IMO when you have millions handed to you. There are plenty of people who win tens of millions in the lottery or make many millions through their careers but end up broke by late adulthood

Would need like $50million to even consider retiring at my age and I'm not even exaggerating, just staving off boredom for 30+ years would be expensive af

With our tax rate of 22% on crypto gains he will have 1.56 million dollars left if he cashes out now. He has not cashed out yet as there are many more catalysts for his coin to gain even more. He is only 30 and is set for life, does not even have to work anymore.

those people are potatoes. I'm not saying that there aren't abject retards that are financially illiterate. What I am saying is that it's very realistic to make 1.3m make you enough money to live comfortably.

Chit, let's say you dumped the entire haul into VZ, you're earning 4% dividend, throw on covered calls? sheesh!

tons of people winning over 50-100M and they end up broke af

happens all the time… the same way it will happen to all the nut heads that made a ton of money with GME… just watch how they bet all that money little by little until they are bone dry…

most people getting rich of zhit coins are going to end up broke because they are straight up gambling instead of investing. imho

This too, the type of person who's throwing $10k into a chitcoin worth $0.00001/unit isn't the type that will put $1.6million into a dividend fund and live a reasonably comfortable life for the next 50 years

Also if you stick your cash into a dividend holding and are withdrawing the dividend for living expenses instead of re-investing it, the value is being eroded by inflation year over year
