Whoever offered this kid $30M is pathetic beyond belief. Is this vending machine patented? If not, I can spin up a prototype in one week.

I didn't find either kid impressive. But the media puts buzzwords in their articles and next thing you know people will say that these 2 will be like Steve Jobbs and other bs.
How about create a 3d printer vending machine that will create random things? A cell phone/tablet/laptop super charging vending machine that will give you a pager and alert you when fully charged?

Why in the fuk would want to dispense a med kit????
If someones needs a med kit it better be ready avaliable like on the wall. Aint nobody got time to wait for the machine to dispense.

Story repost from last year October 2015
http://www.oanow.com/news/opelika/op...ebook-comments
Opelika 14-year-old receives patent for first aid vending machines, declines $30 million offer.
Seems like someone is being paid to write about this again. To spark interest.
Also just google "Medical vending machine"
Seems like load of BS as these things already exist.

What is the point of this type of machine? Food machines are for a quick snack or a drink. What would I need for medical supplies real quick besides a bandaid? Most places are required to have medical kits on property. I have a kit in my home and my car. Don't see how this makes money.

Do people actually require first aid frequently enough for this kind of thing to make a profit? I feel like every company/workspace in the western world always already has a first aid kit nearby which rarely even gets used and any situation that requires the dire use of first aid probably requires immediate medical attention that a first aid kit can't supply.

Something's kinda fishy about this.
Who would offer THAT much money for a dispensable first-aid kit?
Probably someone in the first-aid industry that knows something we don't.
I don't see RecMed being a highly profitable business. Not more than 30 million, at least.

A quick patent search didn't find anything by him, this is the closest, but doesn't seem to be his, unless his dad patented it, and it relates more for pills vs first aid kits...
https://www.google.com/patents/CA289...0KDRMQ6AEIeDAN
Inventors Gerald Norman ROSENTHAL
Applicant Eli Lilly And Company, Gerald Norman ROSENTHAL
Dispenser for a medication
CA 2899591 A1
ABSTRACT
A dispenser (10, 10.1) for medication is disclosed which dispenser comprises a marker (18, 24) and a set of indicia, the indicia being recognisable by the user of the dispenser as indicating meals that are taken during each day. The marker and indicia are displaceable with respect to one another so that the juxtaposition of a specific indicium and the marker conveys to the user of the dispenser the meal at which the last administration of medication took place. The indicia and the marker are one on a barrel (12, 12.1) of the dispenser and the other on a cap (14, 14.1) of the dispenser. The cap has a discrete number of positions in which it can be fitted to the barrel.
