Personal attacks? Lmao, pot meets kettle.

So, how do you feel that Messi said he would trade all his Ballon d'Or for a single WC which he said is the ultimate thing to win?

Making a fool of yourself. Keep having your blast in your tiny bubble of delusion. ****ing lol

Being an Arsenal fan i've seen Messi single handedly demolish my team in the Champions League numerous times. I'm not a Messi fan boy, I think he's abit of a pussy. But he did destroy us in many knockout games taking Barca through on his shoulders.

In one game the kunt scored 4 against us.

Here's some food for thought:
“This award says I’m the best player in the world, but I’m not even the best player at Barcelona.”

–Ronaldinho upon receiving the Ballon D'Or in 2006.
"He (Messi) is one step above us all. He's the best player and there can be no argument."

–Xavi, speaking of his Barcelona teammate.
"It is clear that Messi is on a level above all others. Those who do not see that are blind."

–Xavi
"In Leo we are talking about the best player in the world and when things are not going well you have to use him. Even if he is half lame, his presence on the pitch is enough to lift us and our play in general."

—Defender Gerard Piqu explains Barcelona's reliance on an unfit Messi against Paris Saint-Germain in April 2013.
"I have the possibility to watch Messi in training each morning, and, because of what he demonstrates, he is the best player in the world. It is a pleasure to watch him and because of the way he plays he is an undisputed leader of the Barcelona team.

–Thierry Henry
"His speed is astonishing. It’s amazing how he can go 1 to 100 in just one second. I’m constantly around great players like Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Wayne] Rooney, but this guy is just a step up above every other great footballer out there at the moment. Not only is he quick, determined, and extremely intelligent on the ball, but his movement off the ball is just as fantastic – unbelievable to sum it up in a word."

–Carlos Tevez
"I feel sorry for those who want to compete for Messi's throne—it's impossible, this kid is unique."

—Pep Guardiolaafter Messi became Barcelona's all-time top scorer at age 24in March 2012.

Argentina without Messi = Aguero, Tevez, Correa, Higuain, Dybala...
Portugal without Ronaldo = *crickets*

Apples to Oranges...

Casual recent football fans, seem to forget Ronaldo has won at every club he's been to but let's face it Portugal is probably worse than the US.
We will never see a Porto with Messi or a thin Portugal with Messi being carried.
Lest we forget, Argentina can...and often does win sans Messi.
Is he great? It's undeniable.
But If I had to build a starting 11....
Dinho centerpiece followed by Cr7 then Zidane. Messi might not even make my top 5.

"Messi at age 18 was already having performances that players such as Suarez, Neymar or even CR7 dream about."- I can't argue against that but they weren't playing for the best team in the world and football system when they were 18 either.

"he orchestrated the attack while Xavi and Iniesta orchestrated the ball control"- Thank you! Messi wouldn't have been given the opportunity to showcase his brilliance without the ball control that Xavi, Iniesta etc provided as a foundation for the tika-taka football. His inability to reach similar heights at international level is enough evidence to prove that point and you just have to appreciate how influential Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pique, Puyol and Daniel Alves (very underrated) have been during Messi's glory years at Barcelona. You've got to look at the common factor in success and when it's said and done, the fact is that the Barcelona's Spanish contingent have won with and without Messi.

When watching football I like to appreciate more than just the goal scorers and assist kings because sometimes you don't even have to touch the ball to have had a great influence on a goal. As I've grown older I've started to appreciate interceptions, tackles, hold up play, solid marking, off the ball runs, positioning etc much more.

You mentioned Messi's individual performances in big games and I agree that his moments of brilliance helped win games. But look at the big games when Barcelona have been defeated over the years against the likes of Liverpool (2-2 agg 2007), Man Utd (1-0 agg 2008), Inter (3-2 agg 2010), Chelsea (3-2 agg 2012), Bayern Munich (7-0 agg 2013), Real Madrid (too many to mention lol), and Atletico (2-1 agg 2014 and 3-2 agg 2016). If you watched those games you would have noticed that despite some of them getting lucky, most of them won because they they limited their "ball controllers" and not just because they stopped Messi. You can't on one hand say Messi's moments of brilliance won games for Barcelona then blame his Argentina teammates for him not winning games at international level. It's either Messi's ability/inability to perform won/lost games or you've got to place equal importance on team performance during a win or defeat.
So you agree he's the GOAT then?

About the rest of your post, no kidding football needs more than just one player to win elite level competitions, nobody is saying Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets etc are not great, they are the reason Spain dominated international competitions for about half a decade. You dont win two trebies and another CL with multiple la liga and copa del rey titles playing by yourself. Its just that trough all of Barcelona's success, the player that has stood out more BY FAR is Messi, being pretty much the MVP on every trophy they have won except maybe last lear's la liga (i would argue that Messi's beast mode at the end of last season is what gave Barca the title, equally with Suare beast mode as well).

Yes, he has had some games where he has been neutralized, but every single player in history has had dozens of important games like that, where he is barely seen. At least Messi has put some GOAT performances almost every year in important matches, that consistency is matched by nobody.

Again with that Balon de Or bull****? I already responded to that potato, of course he values a world cup win with his country which he loves WAY MORE than some Balon de Ors, that just speaks of his character, he cares more about the team than about himself.

He values the WC highly, just like any other football player in the world. That doesnt mean that he not winning one makes him automatically a worse player than one that did win it LMAO, thats just retarded as fuk. Ronaldinho won one and had a CL as well, was he better than Messi?

Stop with your poverty arguments. And no im not butthurt, i already said in my previous post that this comes down to opinion and shouldnt make nobody butthurt, you are the one who has been replying to every post of mine desperately talking some retarded ****, and you are also the one who negged me with some bull**** about worldcup or who knows what lol, and i havent even negged you. Who's butthurt again?

If you think Maradona is better, thats all right, calm your tits. Most people realize Maradona was 10/10 on much less occasions than Messi was. Messi has been the best player in the world for almost a decade straight, Maradona just wasnt that kind of player.

Messi is the GOAT brah. I am a huge Ronaldo fan primarily because of his outstanding level of dedication to his craft, which has let him stand toe-to-toe with Messi despite not having nearly the same amount of natural talent.

But Messi is simply a step above. When Ronaldo is having a bad day and isn't scoring, his team suffers because of it. When Messi isn't scoring, he is still creating chances, making key passes, providing assists and directing play.

Ronaldo is a legendary goalscorer, maybe the best in history, and a good footballer in other areas. Messi is similarly a legendary goalscorer, but is also legendary footballer as well.

It's true that neither have had the success with their NTs that previous generation legends have, but that can't really be blamed on them. Argentina NT is tactically a complete mess despite stacked individual players, and Portugal NT is full of mediocre players apart from a couple.

If Messi had burruchaga playing with him instead of Higuan, he would have 1 world cup and 2 copa Amricas.

Its extremely idiotic to judge him on that

I haven't once said he wasn't GOAT! He's the greatest player I've seen in my lifetime, I can't speak for other generations because I was still in my dad's nutsack

my main point is he is not as great as he is made out to be because he's only GOAT when he plays for the GOAT team and is FAR from his club standards when he plays for Argentina

QFT but I disagree with the last bit, you can't be tactically a complete mess and make it to 3 finals in a row.

Messi has no excuse for his failures at senior level international football. He's been playing alongside Garay, Aguero, Di Maria, Mascherano, Lavezzi, and Zabaleta for 10 years. It just wasn't meant to be I guess.

Explain how Messi at the age of 28 was the top scorer and top assister ever for Argentina? How is that failing with the national team? That argument has been bull**** since a couple of years ago.

He does have excuses, Aguero, Di Maria and Higuain, on paper are great names. The thing is that they havent performed close as good as Valdano, Burruchaga and Caniggia performed for Argentina back in the day. Thats not Messi's fault, he can do absolutely everything, his teammates need to support him with good performances at least every once in a while. No player has won a thing by himself, that argument is long gone. Higuain missing the 3 clearest chances on 3 finals in a row are gonna mark Messi's career? Palacio fukin up is gonna mark Messi's career? He cant just take the ball and walk inside the goal every game, he is still human, if we start asking him to do that, then may as well call him the GOAT since you are asking him to stop being human. No other player in the history of football has been held to those standards as Messi is.

On top of that, international tournaments make up what, 5-10% of a players career? That argument is just pure nonsense and anybody with decent critical thinking realizes that.

I've come to the conclusion you can't accept any criticism of Messi's career! It's cute lol

Based off the standards he's set at club level, he's failed to match that at senior level international football. You can't deny that! He wouldn't have announced his international retirement if that wasn't the truth. Stats don't lie!! 450 goals in 530 for Barcelona and 55 goals in 113 for Argentina! There is a clear difference.

Stop blaming other Argentina players in order to take the blame off Messi. Starting with Copa America this year, Di Maria helped win them the game against Chile which Messi didn't play in the group stage and besides the game against Panama Di Maria didn't play until the final. Aguero only started in the final group game against Bolivia and scored his penalty in the final after coming off the bench. Higuain chipped in with goals in the quarter and semi final. None of the big individual players you mentioned missed a penalty it was Messi who missed the crucial first penalty. Besides from his goals against Nigeria in WC14, he went AWOL in the knockout stages! Mascherano was by far their best player in that tournament. He scored 1 goal (penalty) in CA15 and provided a few assists in the semi final but besides that he wasn't as influential as he is at Barcelona. His performances in WC10 and CA11 are nothing to be proud of either.

You can defend him all you want but you can't deny he hasn't lived up to his name for Argentina and you can't blame his teammates when he hasn't performed as well as he can.

okay brah
coming off the bench to score a hat trick against PANAMA (who had a man sent off early in the first half) isn't much of an achievement

nice try brah

EDIT: besides from the first match against Chile (which they won without hi), Argentina's route to the final was as easy it as it gets. He had one game to step up to the plate and do what he has done for Barcelona for a decade and unfortunately he fell short.

itt not a single dumb****w watches futbol 4 years ago, when guardiola left and xavi declined hard, and messi went on to score 73 goals in a season (and 91 for the calender year). its ight

ken-o bruh, these sport miscers dont watch futbol, why waste time and effort when these fuks r clueless

edit: not to mention these dumb fuks thing winning on the international level is more important than club level in the year 2016, when teams spend millions upon millions on coaches and players to form the best teams (only to have messi have the most goals, assists, and trophies year in year out)

That doesnt mean that he not winning one makes him automatically a worse player than one that did win it LMAO, thats just retarded as fuk.Ronaldinho won one and had a CL as well, was he better than Messi?

Stop with your poverty arguments. And no im not butthurt, i already said in my previous post that this comes down to opinion and shouldnt make nobody butthurt, you are the one who has been replying to every post of mine desperately talking some retarded ****, and you are also the one who negged me with some bull**** about worldcup or who knows what lol, and i havent even negged you. Who's butthurt again?

If you think Maradona is better, thats all right, calm your tits. Most people realize Maradona was 10/10 on much less occasions than Messi was. Messi has been the best player in the world for almost a decade straight, Maradona just wasnt that kind of player.

lmao gotta love these kind of posts. Thats your opinion brah, a pretty retarded one but hey, to each their own.
After a few months break from bb, I see you're still here spewing the same dumb ****, but you're from Chihuahua so (I have a cousin from there, not the brightest)
Ronaldinho has won at multiple clubs and country levels ( while partying himself into a stupor [Like ******* and 3somes before every game).
And still made people look incredibly stupid and made the game look ridiculously beautiful...
He , in his prime, is the centerpiece of any team, and even as humble as he is saying "Messi is the greatest", even Messi said he probably wouldn't
be where is today without going under Dinho's wings....
What would you're starting 11 look like?

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...d-no-look-pass

Still doing coke, banging models...making people look stupid...

Meanwhile Lionel "Al Capone" Messi crying with the 96 Bulls squad...
Messi is a GOAT, but not being picked up on my list...

The only reason miscers have a hard on for Ronaldo is because he was an unaesthetic ugly FA looking weirdo and eventually became an attractive sex symbol.

They're like living vicariously though him since they will always be disgusting FAs.

Oh and lol CR7 played Iceland, Austria and Hungary and still was a negligible impact bar the Hungary game. He has been anything but convincing thus far.
True greats find a way through on the big stage should be easier for messi in modern football players arent allowed to tackle/hack anymore
